We do have an "Instrumental" category but not a "lyric only" category. We do plan on offering a lyric contest in the future. All songs must be original.

Winners will be selected by an Executive Committee comprised of noted singer/songwriters. Songs will be judged based on melody, composition, and lyrics (when applicable). The quality of performance and production will not be considered. Prizes will be awarded jointly to all authors of any song.
This Contest is open to amateur and professional songwriters. Parent/guardian permission is required for each entrant under 18 years of age. Employees of WCS, their families, subsidiaries, and affiliates are not eligible.
WCS has been in existence since 1979. Its purpose is to offer opportunity and education to songwriters. With between 15 and twenty events a month, WCS continues to be one of the most active songwriter associations in the USA.
