Greenstock is a festival that encompasses a mixture of various musical performances, sporting activities, cultural outdoor events, and green awareness. It’s held at the Valley Branch Retreat in Nashville, Indiana.
There are 2 stages: The Harvest Hall, which can fit about 350-400 people, and the main stage which is outside in the main gathering area (exhibitors, vendors, bonfires, etc.) Throughout the weekend, Greenstock mixes music with a focus on the "green" movement with exhibitors for green solutions, alternative energy sources, as well as workshops and artwork features.
Genres accepted vary. However, the vibe of the event is very "woodsy" and chilled out. The best results have come from jam bands, folk, Americana, Raggae, etc. The message is along the lines of being kind, thinking outside the box, innovation, harmonious, rich. No hard rock, heavy metal, cover bands etc.
Compensation typically ranges from $100-$1000. Each band member will receive weekend passes for themselves and their crew (i.e. 5 band members get 10 weekend passes). Band members get VIP passes that allow them access to Greenstock’s hospitality area with food, drinks, beer and a few other goodies throughout the entire weekend.
Camping prices can be found on the Greenstock website. There are also 5 cabins designated specifically for band members, volunteers, and other VIPs. This is divided up on a case-by-case basis depending on the agreements with the bands.
Prominent past performers include: Michael Kelsey, The Twin Cats, Jassy Grazz, Jonathan Byrd, and Tim Grimm.
