Summary
In honour of the Citys 175th anniversary, the City of Toronto is hosting the Toronto Song Contest. The city is looking for an original song that is evocative of their wonderful city, a song that will pay homage to Torontos amazing spirit and unparalleled diversity.
The contest is open to any Canadian resident 13 years of age or older. All lyrical musical genres are welcome. Songs must be no longer than four minutes in length. Songs must be submitted in an MP3 format. Lyrics and a short biography (200 words) must accompany each submission. Entry is free.
Judges for the competition will be announced soon. The winning song/songwriter will be awarded $5,000. Judges will base their evaluation of the songs on the following criteria:
- Creativity
- Originality
- Lyrics
- Melody
- Arrangement
