South by Southwest Music and Media Conference is one of the largest, most influential, and most anticipated music events of the year. In 2009, SXSW Music drew over 12,000 music industry professionals for compelling panels, industry discussions, demo listening sessions, trade show exhibits, and – of course - five nights of music by no fewer than 1,987 acts hailing from 42 different countries, performing in 88 venues in downtown Austin, Texas.
2010, the 24th consecutive year of the Festival and Conference, will showcase music from the best new talent and established artists alike, provide more opportunities to network, have more unique panels and artist interviews – in short, will offer even more compelling reasons to make Austin a “can’t miss” destination in March.
Access to more advanced band information than has ever been offered by a music industry convention will be instantly available to every music fan worldwide! The Showcasing Band Pages will allow fans and professionals to search through the bands that perform at SXSW 2010, hear their music, read their bio's, and learn the date, time and location of their performances. The opportunities for media exposure have never been better with the event being covered by hundreds of national and international media outlets. Television crews, film makers, radio programmers, music magazine journalists, newspaper writers, podcasters and hundreds of independent bloggers will be in Austin reporting on every facet of the festival and laying claim to having heard the next big act before anyone else.
From unsigned bands to indie and major label headliners, SXSW continues to be the premier music event that sets the tone and direction of the industry by introducing the hottest new talent, and showcasing the new directions and sounds of the most important musical acts in the world, while providing an ideal environment for bands to learn from and meet the music industry professionals that can help them further their careers.
Please note: SXSW will be evaluating bands as soon as their submissions come in. Please make sure to complete your EPK immediately as your EPK is an instrumental part of the review process. SXSW will not be able to evaluate your submission without a complete EPK.
