The Chicago Blues Festival is the largest blues festival in the world dedicated to presenting the most authentic program in a narrative form. The 26th Annual Festival is scheduled for June 11-13, 2010, and takes place in Grant Park on a number of different stages reminiscent of the Crossroads, Front Porch, or Roadhouse, to name a few. Performers should be suitable representatives of the tradition and help tell the story of the blues in the modern world.
The Mayor’s Office of Special Events will accept all entries between October 1 and October 31, 2009. There are a total of 90 musical sets throughout the weekend and there are always unknown artists that best represent the blues tradition and help tell the story of the important blues heritage. These artists are compensated commensurate to their qualifications.
