Eaglewood Folk Festival is primarily a songwriter festival looking for fresh, creative, exciting original music based on roots traditions. They are looking for professional performers who dig the vibe of a festival in the woods, play well with others and are thoroughly entertaining.
The festival is on a uniform pay structure, which means everyone gets paid the same known rate. In 2009, solo acts received $500, duos received $800 and any larger acts received $1000. There is no travel budget. Meals and accommodations are provided. They're primarily a camping festival (including performers), so camping usually works best for all attendees.
The vibe is very relaxed, with a focus on quality music and deliberately interesting combinations of performers. Artists have a blast at this festival, and the top acts sell between 30 and 40 CDs. The festival is a great way to meet other Canadian acts who are also building a buzz for themselves.
Please note: This listing is mostly for Canadian acts, but Eaglewood will be reserving one slot for a non-Canadian artist.
