Join a celebration of music with a diverse range of acts from South-West England, and the world beyond. Based on the last two years of the event, Pewsey is expected to see 1,200 people attend in 2010.
Eight acts play the festival - with 1-2 slots reserved for artists who submit through Sonicbids. Selected artists will be paid £200, dependent on size of band, plus goody bags of snacks. The inaugural year, 2007, saw the astounding New Jersey soul-funk six-piece Big Baby Ernie, who were introduced to PMF by headliners and honorary Pewseyites The Convulsions, as well as some of Wiltshire's finest – Nick Harper, Jon Amor, Hitchmo and Big Num. Last year's line-up included Radio 1-championed Beatbullyz and, muso-journo touted Samantha Marais.
Pewsey Music Festival was launched in 2007 to showcase local talent and feature a random super-act. Set length will be one hour minimum; please no churchy music, or severely heavy metal. There will be a PA but no backline. Sponsoring partners for the Pewsey Music Festival in 2010 include Wiltshire County Council, Wessex Print Centre, CMEAS, and Kaya Drums. The scene for the event is in the Pewsey Vale behind the historic Cooper’s Arms public house, with Pewsey's White Horse providing the backdrop. This year’s festival will be held on Saturday, August 7th, 2010.
