Popkomm Festival 2010 (extended)

Berlin Music Week is the umbrella covering all conference, markets, showcases and events taking place in the city between 6th – 12th September 2010./n/nThe deadline for artist submissions for POPKOMM will be extended until 5/14. This two week extension will allow their confirmed partners and exhibitors time to make the formal application and enable more of their artists to be considered for a showcase at POPKOMM.

POPKOMM is one of the world's leading International Music Business markets and showcase events, taking place in the heart of Europe in the German capitol of Berlin. POPKOMM is dedicated to providing a vibrant, creative environment for new, up-and-coming artists to present their talents, and dynamic companies from all over the globe to come together and exchange business.

So far the festival has received hundreds of artist submissions from 46 different countries around the world and has already started the selection process. All artists will be notified by 6/30 if they have been offered a showcase slot or not, and all updates can be found at POPKOMMlive.com.

This year’s POPKOMM is the central pillar of Berlin Music Week. Berlin Music Week is the umbrella covering all conference, markets, showcases and events taking place in the city between 6th – 12th September 2010.

POPKOMM FESTIVAL is the live music segment of POPKOMM and will take place at Berlin’s legendary Kulturbrauerei complex on 8th – 10th September 2010. The festival will organize a limited number of showcases and events at 6 venues at this location with approximately 60 slots, all of which will be selected using Sonicbids. There will also be daytime showcase slots available at the POPKOMM conference centre and Tempelhof Airport. POPKOMM will also be place a number of artists on the line up of this year’s Berlin Festival, also taking place at Tempelhof, on 10th – 11th September 2010.

Information:

• All requests to perform at POPKOMM, POPKOMM FESTIVAL, BERLIN FESTIVAL are submitted on Sonicbids.


• All requests will be considered for selection.


• The selection process will be undertaken by POPKOMM in consultation with its partners.


• The time and date of each individual showcase will be allocated by POPKOMM in consultation with its partners.


• Each showcasing artist will be given a 45 minute time slot – unless otherwise agreed with POPKOMM.


• POPKOMM will give preference to those artists who can show that they have a professional team of people around them who can take full advantage of the showcase opportunity provided.


• The submission opening date is 8th March 2010.


• The closing deadline for submissions is 30th April 2010.


• All acts will be informed of their status by the end of June 2010.

Conditions:

• All selected artists must also become official POPKOMM Exhibitors or Co-Exhibitors, or must be affiliated with an Exhibitor or Co-Exhibitor. • Submissions MUST be made online via the Sonicbids website.


• All submission fees are non-refundable.


• The artist must be available to perform at POPKOMM on the dates allocated for the live programme.

• POPKOMM will provide appropriate, professional venues for the showcases to take place.


• POPKOMM will provide in-house technical equipment according to the House riders - any extra technical requirements will be charged to the artist.


• POPKOMM will provide standard catering for the artists.


• POPKOMM will help promote the event together with the venues and Berlin Music Week.


• POPKOMM will not provide any artist fees.


• POPKOMM will not provide any transport or accommodation for the artists.

Please note: You will be sent a notification that POPKOMM has received your application. Once you have received that notification, there will be no need to contact POPKOMM again regarding your application. POPKOMM will process your application and inform you of its decision to offer a showcase or not by the end of June 2010.
