Don't miss your LAST CHANCE to submit to the Boston Music Conference (BMC), which is seeking talent to fill their 12 independently judged regional competitions starting July 22nd at Mojitos Nightclub in downtown Boston. Each night will feature a specific genre of music, and the winners of each competition will be granted complimentary access to attend the Boston Music Conference for the entire band and 12 free months of Sonicbids membership. In addition, free conference passes will be provided to five Sonicbids artists beyond the artists selected to perform./n/nThe Boston Music Conference (BMC) is seeking talent to fill the Boston Music Conference Showcase stage with the region's most promising and hardworking artists/bands. BMC will host 12 independently judged regional competitions starting July 22nd at Mojitos Nightclub in downtown Boston. Each night will feature a different genre of music. Bands will be submitting to perform in one of the 12 genre specific competitions listed below. At least 5-8 Sonicbids artists will be selected to perform at the competitions. Bands submitting to the BMC to this listing will be prioritized because Sonicbids is the primary talent search partner for the BMC Competition Series. The winners of each genre’s competition will be granted complimentary access to attend the Boston Music Conference for the entire band and 12 free months of Sonicbids membership. In addition, free conference passes will be provided to five Sonicbids artists beyond the artists selected to perform, courtesy of Boston Music Conference.


Boston Music Conference Showcase is on September 26th and takes place in front of A&R reps and major label executives. There will be a panel of judges who will provide immediate feedback after your performance. Last year's judges were Angel Martinez, G-Unit, Aldo Gonzalez, Universal and Eric Gast (producer/engineer to Britney Spears, Kid Rock and Will Smith).


Prizes for each of the 12 showcases:


  • Earn the right to represent the BMC 2010 Showcase Performers

  • Prize Package will be announced shortly. Last year’s winners took home over $10,000 in total prize value


Selection criteria:


  • Overall musicality and performance

  • Originality

  • Ability to draw their fans and audience to their shows

  • Stage presence, personality and charisma

  • Professionalism (punctuality, seriousness and commitment)

  • All artists/bands selected to perform at the final showcase have to attend the BMC in its entirety

  • Thursday 07/22/10: Reggaeton

  • Thursday 07/29/10: Reggae/Ska

  • Sunday 08/01/10: Tropical (Bachata, Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Soca, Calypso)

  • Thursday 08/05/10: Latin Rock

  • Sunday 08/08/10: Folk/Americana

  • Thursday 08/12/10: World Music

  • Sunday 08/22/10: Hip Hop

  • Thursday 08/26/10: Hard Rock/Metal

  • Sunday 08/29/10: Jazz/Blues

  • Thursday 09/02/10: Rock/Alternative/Indie Rock

  • Thursday 09/09/10: Pop

  • Sunday 09/12/10: R&B



Submissions must be received at least five days before the date of the showcase you wish to submit for. Final arrangements may be made with bands within a few days of each showcase, so bands should be available for the date listed before submitting.


The Boston Music Conference, a highly publicized event in the Boston Metro Area and the surrounding counties, is the biggest music industry event of its kind in the Northeast.
