We book around 6 shows per year at the historic Paradise Theatre, which is a 180-seat theater that is around 100 years old. We do most of these bookings in the spring and fall. We have a devoted local crowd that usually packs the house and has been known to buy a bunch of CDs of the performing artists. Since we are in a small town, our shows are serious “events”. The bands often play live on KVNF radio, which is right next door to the venue in downtown Paonia. We have a little house in town where we put the bands up and there is always lots of hospitality. We pay the best we can, which is usually above fair. I'm open to helping bands find a place to play in the area if it's not a perfect fit for our venues.
As far as genres and choosing bands, we're picky since we only host a few shows per year. We like bluegrass, old time and especially roots music. We've been known to dabble in alt country, and rarely, straight up folk.
We are in route about half way between Denver (4 hr drive) and Salt Lake (5 hr drive). We're a 1 hr drive from I-70.
