CME Artist Services has been organizing and promoting musical tours in the UK for the last five consecutive years.
This event started in 2006 to explore the music Mecca of historic East Anglia, with additional gigs in Bristol and London; However, last year was so successful that we are able to step up the gigs to include at least two festival dates including the prestigious Glasgow Music Festival which is rather a long way from East Anglia (Scotland).
In 2006 we booked the three Sonicbids acts - Fluttr, Brother Big Bad, and Meg Hutchinson - and they went over so well and we all got on so very well that we are bringing them in again and looking for 1-2 additional Sonicbids acts to go on the tour with them.
The success of this event in 2006 has enabled us to book several larger venues in 2007 as well as expanding the geographical region we'll explore. Also, the festival that took place in a very large field - the Hill Top Festival that premiered in 2006 - is going to be double, treble in size to last year such is the buzz about this event already. We anticipate to book 1-2 performance workshops in community centres and High Schools as well.
The tour runs from Friday May 25th, 2007 through Sunday June 4th, 2007 and is open to all genres of music and all nationalities.
Sponsors and partners include the Groove Doctors, International Songwriting Competition, and Goose Island Brewing Company.
Within the UK all travel, accommodation, evening meals, promotion and work permits are provided by CMEAS, CMEAS partners and the venues themselves.
Artists will receive remunerations from performance guarantees and ticket receipts after venue costs. These amounts depend on the venue, the type of performance, and the time of the week (weekends pay more). Artists can expect from between $40-$80 per individual per performance at current exchange rates. Artists can further increase their personal revenue by retaining 100% of the sales of their CDs and other merchandise. CDs in the UK typically sell for around $18 each.
There are no age requirements or limits for this event though individuals under the age of 18 will not be permitted to drink alcohol at any of the venues on the tour (the drinking age in the UK is 18) and must supply a signed letter of permission from a parent or legal guardian allowing them to take part in this event. Participants will need a valid passport for travel to the UK and may need a visa too unless Commonwealth or US/Canadian citizens. Work permits are provided by CMEAS.
Past participants of CMEAS as well as testimonials, gig lists, venues, and photos can be viewed on the web site.
