February’s Music Review is on Montreal Artist P Bailey.

Years ago, during a chance meeting at a popular night club in Montreal, Paul met members of the Stone City Band.

Upon this meeting, Paul forwarded his demo ‘On the right track’ to the group!

Legendary Superstar, Rick James later used a sample of Paul’s song 'Part time Lover' on the sound track of the movie Colors.

It was Pauls first real break into the biz!

His new music is being perfected in his Montreal Studio.

I had a chance to listen to some of his latest creations.

With songs like, ‘ to Find Me Somebody’, the music is fun & spunky & brings you back to that 90’s vibe.

A vibe I hadn’t experienced in a long while! It makes you smile. Tracks like' Mystery Radio Edit',Not Mine (PM Vocal Mix) and 'Part of me' are contemporary and should gain him lots of new fans!

Paul is definitely not afraid to explore his creativity and after inspiring such music greats
such as Rick James, why on earth would he be?

"P Bailey 'Find me somebody'"

From the minuet I heard the first Song I knew i was in for a treat.
P Bailey Originally from the UK and now residing in Canada
brings fourth the old school meets the new school of Urban Grooves.
this ten set album titled 'Find me somebody' stands out from the over
saturated assembly line type of Urban/R&B witch we hear today. The standout
tracks are the opener 'Mystery' This funkafied joint reminiscent of 'Roger Troutman'
(Zapp) meets the Barkays vocal sty lings for the old school aficionados. Someone like
Faheem Rasheed Najm aka T Pain must have been a student of.'Find me somebody' the album title is
an R&B/Club joint a great club track Ala 'Timberland' 'Black eye peas with hot
vocal harmonies.Sounds like a classic! 'Beautiful'(Marlon G's Buzz Mix) a sexy head bopping hunk of funk with a cool buzz effect.
Nu funk doesn't have a chance! 'Part of me' A smooth R&B/Pop song radio friendly, a nice contemporary R&B song.
'Melody' A Beautiful romantic ballad. Think Chopin meets classic soul.Well sung with a nice vocoder
background vocal touch. This as hit written all over it. 'Not mine' (PM Vocal Mix)
This is a banging Hip hop/Soul track with two bass lines, crying baby sample and lyrics
calling on forgiveness for deception. New schoolers will enjoy this one.' Desire' Featuring Scandalous (PM Vocal Mix)
Classic Soul at it's best. Current R&B artists take heed this is how it's done!

"Review: P Bailey - Find Me Somebody"

2009, P Bailey

Montreal's Paul Bailey is a purveyor of highly produced, electronic pop that ranges from mellow ballads to mid-tempo dance music. Originally from the UK, Bailey found his love of music early on. His latest release, Find Me Somebody, is a hybrid of R&B and electronic music forms.

Opening track Mystery is firmly ensconced in synthesizer and electronic effects. P Bailey even gives his voice the full electronic effect. It's a marriage of organic and electronic where electronic is the dominant partner. The song itself is good Pop/R&B, the arrangement is bit divorced from the human component but still has a lot of life. The remix of Find Me Somebody has more energy and drive and a real club like groove. Beautiful (Marlon G'z Buzz Mix) is designed for the dance club, and may find a lot of play there. Part Of Me (Smooth Vocal Mix) is the first track on the album that sounds real or alive .. P Bailey's vocals here sounds like he's feeling what he's singing.

Melody is built around an interesting piano line, but once again the technology takes over and the artist becomes a little lost in it but a brilliant song nevertheless! Bailey hits a little closer to home on I Want U and It's All That . Find Me Somebodyshows some talent for production, the compositions come across as real and full of life. A beautiful Marriage of Personality and Technology!
Rating: 3.5 Stars (Out of 5)
