Phantom Limbs

The Phantom Limbs are a blend of surf rock, hard rock, punk, beach soul and rockabilly, and they smell weird ... like, really weird.
The band hails from Ocean City, Maryland, a town dominated by cover and tribute acts. Since Ryan Abbott, guitarist and co-singer for the band, looks like a homicide scene in spandex, they opted to be themselves and play the music that they create.
Ryan is joined by Kasey Briggs (bass, vocals) and Randolph Showell (drums). The three-piece play hard and fast, but can do quaint and sensitive on rainy days as well.
Put it to you this way: Ryan's song writing will gently take your hand and guide you down the beach, past the fallen life guard stand, down by where the board walk ends and the dunes begin. Randolph's drumming will jump out of said dunes and triple round house kick you in the scrote. Kasey's bass will giggle and fist pump the air whilst you quiver.
The band is not pretentious. They rely on the fact that they are complete morons and have no chance at making the next great Indie Pete Yorn record. They don't even know who Pete Yorn is. Is he the guy that makes the taquitos at 711?
They are influenced by genre defying bands like Ween as well as genre specific bands like Southern Culture on the Skids, Dick Dale, The Reverend Horton Heat and Fugazi.
They play for their friends and themselves and, to them, that's what music should be. A portrait of who you are at any given time. This is the Phantom Limbs and this is now.
