The 27th annual Seattle Peace Concert will be held on August 24, 2008 in Volunteer Park in Seattle, Washington. With last year's attendance reaching 5,000 people, this is a perfect opportunity for artists to support the cause for peace while promoting their music at the same time.

There are 2 slots reserved for Sonicbids artists.

This is an all ages outdoor free public concert, and all performances should be suitable for that environment. The invitation to apply is geared towards regional performers who are looking for exposure, and a venue to support the message for peace through the gift of music. Artists are encouraged to sell merchandise since they keep 100% of their sales.

There is no monetary compensation since this is a non-profit organization, and all submission fees go directly to offset production costs for the August 24th concert in Volunteer Park.

Prominent past performers have included, The Lovemongers ( Anne & Nancy Wilson), Duffy Bishop, Clinton Fearon, Merkaba, The Whole Bolivian Army, The Fabulous Wailers, Alice Stuart and The Red Hot Blues Sisters and many more.

The Student Administrative Council (SAC) at Fleming College, located in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, sponsors many social events throughout the school year. These include various concerts and shows at The Steele Centre, a facility with a capacity of up to 350 people. These events are very popular and help the students to unwind from the stress of studies. The student base has roughly 4,000 full time students with over 5,000 part time students.

The SAC is currently accepting submissions for bookings during the Spring 2009 semester and seeking local, regional, and national artists. They are primarily interested in country, R&B, rock, and comedy acts. The Steele Centre offers a pub setting or coffeehouse setting depending on the artist. They also host live acoustic shows on their large outdoor patio.

Selected acts will be compensated for their performances with an amount to be negotiated. Travel costs are also negotiable.

The Trinumeral Music and Arts Festival is a yearly Music & Arts Festival held on the date in which the day, month, and year align in an auspicious numeric sameness. The festival began on January 1, 2001: 01.01.01 and has expanded to become a multidisciplinary event held every year on the synchronized dates. This year's festival will include nationally recognized headline performers such as Galactic, Perpetual Groove, Lotus, Eoto, and Kaki King just to name a few. This year's festival will be held, creatively, on August 8-10 (08.08.08) just south of Ashville, North Carolina in a family owned 940-acre tract of unspoiled wilderness named Deerfields. The festival will feature 3,000 enthusiastic fans, nearly 30 performers, and various activities including camping, swimming, and hiking.

The Trinumeral Music and Arts Festival is now accepting submissions for general performance consideration. There are two performance slots reserved for Sonicbids artists. This is a great gig for any artist to perform along side nationally recognized artists at a creative and popular music and camping festival in North Carolina.

Paste Magazine - winner of the 2006, 2007, and 2008 PLUG Independent Music Award for "Magazine of the Year" - is a monthly publication that includes an influential, FREE CD sampler, loaded with over 20 tracks. Designed to help break new artists or get the tracks of more established artists in front of a young, hip audience, the sampler is an invitation only CD treated as a glorified office mix-tape, not something to listen to once and rip the two or three good songs.

200,000 CDs are distributed each month. Paste is sold at all great retail locations (Borders, Barnes & Noble, Books-aMillion, Hastings, B. Dalton, etc).

Established since 1990, The Barwon Club Hotel has proved to be Geelong's leading venue for live bands. Situated in the heart of Geelong, Victoria, Australia; the "BC" provides a great atmosphere which is a result of its distinctive interior, quality food and drink, and friendly staff. The Barwon Club Hotel is seeking musicians to book on Friday and Saturday nights. Set lengths usually last 30-45 minutes. Bands that have not performed in the Geelong region will be paired with a local band to attract some local fans. Performers are compensated with the entire door revenue less $1 per admission. The venue will provide a sound engineer, PA, microphones, and monitors; however all backline will need to be provided by performing artists. Studio 132 is a commercial recording facility located in Oakland, CA. Now in it's 11th year, the intimate, cooperative, and creative facility places a big emphasis on quality and services artists and bands of all genres, from singer/songwriters, to rappers, rockers, instrumentalists, and more. Alongside sister company popTuna, Studio 132 composes music and does sound design for film, TV, video, websites, and ring tones. The pair has produced and put out music that has been featured on all the major networks, in platinum selling video games, national and regional ad campaigns, independent feature length films, and scores of documentaries.

Always looking for new talent and material to produce, mix and master, the studio is currently holding a contest to win a professionally mixed and mastered song. Anybody can submit, and all entries will be judged by a panel of music industry professionals led by founder BZ Lewis. This panel will professionally evaluate each artist on their song writing and performance merits, narrowing down the list to a "Top 10" before choosing the final winner. The Purple Door Festival, held in Lewisberry, PA, is dedicated to showcasing quality artists to a large number of people. While large festivals like SXSW and Cornerstone have performing artists numbering in the thousands each year, Purple Door has chosen to be more focused and simply present three well attended stages of quality music, an art gallery and a handful of important seminars. This is done with the hope that every artist will find an audience.

A&R Connections is a dynamic A&R consultant group in California. Digital Bliss Productions (S.F.) and Boutique Electronique Records (L.A.) are working together to create "Digital Bliss Volume 2". There are two slots reserved for female Sonicbids producers, vocalists, or artists. They'll be promoting the compilation this fall and will showcase talented emerging and already established women in the electronic music world.

The 1st compilation CD they released was well received in the electronic music community, received great reviews and a good amount of media attention and they are working to keep the ball rolling. At least 200 CDs will be pressed and all songs will be released digitally online through iTunes, Rhapsody, napster, eMusic, Amazon, CD Baby, etc. Boutique Electronique Records and Digital Bliss Productions will run an ongoing PR campaign and all artists selected to be on the compilation CD will have their names mentioned in all press releases, websites, etc.

They will also work to license any and all songs on the compilation for television and film. You might be asked to tour with some of their other artists when they launch the PR campaign this fall. This is a great opportunity to be onboard with a growing community of electronic musicians that are working hard to build buzz.

Accepted genres include any and all of the following: electronica, dance, drum & bass, downtempo, trance, electro, IDM, trip hop, dub - basically any and all genres that fall under the electronica category. They will select the best tracks that are submitted to be included based on performance, composition, originality, marketability and style. All submitted songs must be mixed and mastered (or you will have to do this by July).

Digital Bliss Productions was established in 2004 by Lynda Arnold (S.F.) to promote women electronic music producers, vocalists, instrumentalists and engineers as well as women who combine media and disciplines to create their own unique voice in the digital realm. Boutique Electronique Records was founded in 2005 by music producer/engineer Celeste Lear who wished to create a "Kinder, gentler label" to record, produce and market electronic music made by cutting edge musicians and producers around the world. Bandshell Bash

The Bandshell Bash is a new and innovative comprehensive music event. This year's Bash is more than just a concert series. Each event also features the Brooksville Cruise-In (antique hot rod and motorcycle show), various community-based organizations, and local food and beverage vendors. Additionally, each month's event follows a distinct theme and features activities specially designed to complement that topic. These have included free swing dance lessons, arts and crafts displays, a hot dog eating contest, and children's activities such as face painting, balloon animals and sand art. The Bandshell Bash is held monthly in Brooksville, Florida.

The success of the Bandshell Bash is evident in its consistently good turnout month after month. Some of the larger national acts have attracted more than 1,500 patrons each, and the event typically averages approximately 800 people each month. The Bandshell Bash is now accepting submissions from Sonicbids artist for general performance consideration. Compensation is offered, but is negotiated at the time of booking.

The first Bandshell Bash was February 12, 2005. Since its inception the Bandshell Bash has become an extremely popular monthly event, having a positive effect on the residents of Brooksville, Hernando County, and even beyond to the surrounding areas. The citizens are very excited to see all the activity surrounding the Bandshell now, and have pulled together in support by turning out month after month. The event has strengthened government relationships, as evidenced by what Florida Representative David Russell wrote in his letter supporting the Bandshell Bash: "This event attracts people into the City of Brooksville one family-friendly evening a month to enjoy a wide variety of music - from jazz to reggae to rock and roll - providing a showcase not only for musical access but also for downtown businesses and car and motor-bike enthusiasts. Events such as the Bandshell Bash invigorate and sustain community spirit, and provide much-needed accesses to the musical arts for citizens in the more rural areas of our State." This is a great event for any band to perform at a well known and respected music series.

MISC Radio Plus is an internet radio network created by Music Independence Summit Connection (MISC). The format of the network includes many genres of music from unsigned, independent and major recording artists to specialty entertainment and educational programs. Video performances of these songs from Wicked will be judged by theatre industry professionals on the basis of vocal quality, performance delivery, vocal accuracy and overall performance. (Note, video and production quality will not be judged.) Fifty semi-finalists will be selected for the live competitions.

Wannabe Wicked Wednesdays are part of Universal CityWalk's Summer Block Party featuring free entertainment seven nights per week including live bands, dancing, the popular free movie night and talent competitions from June 20 through August 31. Each Wannabe Wicked Wednesday performance will showcase ten of the selected semi-finalists to perform before a live audience at Universal CityWalk during the summer series: July 2, July 9, July 16, July 30, August 6 from 7:00pm - 9:00pm.

On Wednesday, August 20, one winner will be selected from the finalists and will walk away with a walk-on appearance in Wicked at the Pantages Theatre (appearance date TBD). The Wannabe Wicked performance competition is open to the public and there is a $10 processing fee to submit a Sonicbids EPK.
