Relle

Born in the breath taking Caribbean country of Trinidad and Tobago, Jherelle Benn traveled to the United States with her family as an infant. Growing up in the most populated city in the United States combined with her West Indian heritage has provided this young poet with certain advantages such as an open mind, a thirst for knowledge, and a fire like passion that drives her forward.

While working toward a college degree, “Relle” has been racking up performance credits as a journalist, activist, model, stage actress, has appeared in Public Service Announcements, released her own original video poems and most recently, she’s exploded on the downtown “Open Mic” circuit as a powerful poet/performer with a commanding stage presence and a uniquely crafted spiritual, emotional, and political persona.
