Sir Q, Bacchus King and The Honors rocked out at Church, arestaurant and bar hidden in the shadows of Fenway Park.Though it was a Thursday evening, the crowd was sparse enoughfor The Honors’ singer to jokingly say, “Back off the stage! Get out of my bubble.”
The show openers were Sir Q, the Imposter, a Haverhill, MA band with a hard, loud sound. Layering guitar over guitar over bass, they produced some unique alternative rock. Whether the fault of the sound system or the mic volume, the vocals were a bit indistinct, but the sound produced by Gene Fontaine and Co. was melodic and anguished. The songs alternated between slower, brooding, wailing numbers and more aggressive songs with screaming guitars and clashing drums, producing a sonic assault on the ears that might have been exactly what the audience wanted.
Following Sir Q, Bacchus King took the stage, dancing and flailing and nearly toppling each other with their enthusiasm.The three-piece Allston band (guitar, bass, drums) brought lots of energy and volume to the stage, undeterred by the small audience. With a diverse sound, they touched on different genres

Sir Q emerged from the creative obscurity of an anonymous writer and an old book that spent decades hidden away on a basement shelf. The band delivers a sound so unique that your most dormant senses are intrigued. Hailing from Haverhill, Massachusetts, Sir Q tugs at the same nostalgia with locals as the city's abandoned shoe factories and mills. What resonates is the bands common passion for music and the influence of cultural elements like art, film and literature.
Founded in 2004, Sir Q is a fresh approach to the proverbial verse-chorus-verse rock band. Together, Gene Fontaine, guitar and vocals; Matt Learoyd, drums and vocals; Tony Rossetti, bass and vocals; and Addam Zaino, guitar and vocals, craft a complex sound armed with dense vocal harmonies and angular rhythms. Each band member lends to the vocal dichotomy: Think Beach boys meet the alt movement. Sir Q evokes bands in a similar vein like Jesus Lizard, Nirvana, Melvins, Queens of the Stone Age and Fugazi;
while still standing very much on it's own.
Sir Q has headlined at some of Boston and New Yorks's most notable venues including The Paradise Rock Club, The Middle East (Upstairs and Downstairs) Arlene's Grocery and Bill�s Bar.
Sir Q is currently Mixing their debut EP with Scott Reibling.
