Summary

The Association of Artists for a Better World (AABW) presents their 8th Compilation CD: Songs of Canada – Anthology of Canadian Songwriters 2008. All previous releases have received worldwide airplay, and have been reviewed and highly acclaimed in the press.

A Better World is creating a compilation album to capture the voice and spirit of Canada, which will include tracks from established renowned artists, as well as offer exposure to emerging and lesser known artists. Four tracks on the compilation are reserved for Sonicbids artists. Artists will be given full liner credits including contact and website information. Even in the planning stages, the album has already generated high interest and requests from Canadian and foreign mainstream radio as well as pre-production media attention.

The promoter has requested that all submitted songs contain Canadian References. Some examples may include topics like a town or city (Hamilton or Muskoka), person (Bobby Orr or William Lyon Mackenzie), place (Rochdale College or CN Tower), event (Calgary Stampede or Terry Fox run), historic event (Upper Canada Rebellion or Transcontinental Railway), local color (summer camp in Ontario, or Sudbury Satruday Night), humor (Canadian Winter or Black fly season), political (Homeless on the streets or Make it Green). Among the many constructive goals of this compilation, AABW is planning to submit the album to the Juno Awards in 2009.

The compilation will be distributed by CD baby for airplay at over 200 radio stations with special emphasis on the Canadian market. A Better World’s global pipeline connects with radio and media throughout North America, Europe, and Australia.

Artists will be included and named on AABW website, press releases, and all CD related publicity and promotion as applicable. Artists will be supplied with 10 CDs for their own sale and promotion as well.
