The Autumn Start

Blending singer/songwriter style stories with hooky melodies, while wrapping it all up with a strong harmonic sense... this is the essence of the Autumn Start. The group formed in 2007, when two friends with similar musical interests began introducing their latest works to each other. Jennifer Jacobs has been known as a strong/original vocalist in the area for some time, and a powerful songwriter . Brian Holt has been a mainstay on the Virginia music scene since his graduation from Berklee College of Music. When these two formed The Autumn Start, both of their experiences forged a whole new level of songwriting. Still in its early stages, the band is already earning accolades. Jennifer was voted in the top 3 best female vocalists by the Roanoke Times, and their songs have received Honorable Mentions from the Independent Singer/Songwriter Association and reached the semi-finals in the UK songwriting contest.
