"Four Chords and a Pack of Lies"

Eastern Kentucky’s The Toluenes call themselves a “southwestern country rock” band. The Toluenes are Jamon Scott and Dan Allen Crawley and they’ve beat a path from Asbury Park to the Rainbow Room in Hollywood. Now regulars at Nashville’s best venues, their debut CD is called “Hola from The Toluenes.” They have also on occasion joined up as part of The Outfit, a collection of Nashville singers and musicians.

Most bands never have a debut TV pilot, but Jamon was a co-writer and co-starred with Dan in “Bottle Rockets,”which ran off with the 2007 Indie Gathering winner award for best TV pilot.

Bio

A regular on the Nashville music scene, Toluenes vocalist & songwriter Jamon Scott has hammered out his distinctive brand of southwestern country rock on stages from Asbury Park, N.J. to Los Angeles, CA including the legendary Rainbow Room on Hollywoods Sunset Strip. With comparisons to John Mellencamp, Jimmy Buffet and Robert Earl Keen, Jamon has garnered Best Male Vocals and Best Lyrics awards on Garageband.com while The Toluenes held the ..1 artist position in their genre for 6 straight months on Audiostreet.net. Guitarist Dan Crawley, a prolific songwriter in his own right, moved to Nashville right out of high school and honed his craft in such clubs as the famed Bluebird Cafe, eventually signing his first publishing deal. Later, he relocated to Lexington, KY, where he spent the late '90's and early 2000's "paying his dues" on the local music scene before hooking up with Jamon in 2003 and forming The Toluenes. a great sound with a wickedly cool sense of humor, burns like cheap tequila chased by a long-turned lime and rockin' bar (band) - makes me want to down a longneck and boogie are just a few of the words reviewers have used to describe The Toluenes, on their debut c.d. Hola from The Toluenes. The disc was recorded in Nashville and co-produced by Jim Allison, who wrote such hits as Reba McEntires What Am I Gonna Do About You and LeAnn Rimes Fade To Blue. The Toluenes also made their small screen debut in the 2007 Indie Gathering winner for best t.v. pilot, Bottle Rockets. The pilot was co-written by & co-stars Jamon and features several solo performances from both Jamon and Dan.
