Bio
East, West, North or South, Urban Acoustics is the tension behind a hip hop genre starving for guidance. Founded by Eliot Gonzalez, Urban Acoustics production style owes a debt to New York's finest beat-makers from the early '90s, such as DJ Premier, Pete Rock, and Large Professor, his music is complete with a wide range of styles such as Hip-Hop, R&B, Club and Dancehall, as well as other surrounding genres. Born and raised with the New York City skyline, Eliot Gonzalez always had a love for hip hop. Staying up late on Friday and Saturday nights back in the 80’s recording the KISS-fm and WBLS rap attack radio shows, thus to mimic the sounds and raps he heard every weekend. In 1991, Local Brooklyn, NYC mentor and graffiti artist Emzkey showed the aspiring youth how to craft beats and tracks using a drum machine and a 8 second Gemini sampler. In 1999, as the rap scene shifted from New York to Atlanta, Eliot actually relocated from Brooklyn to Virginia’s low-key hip-hop scene to destroy and rebuild. Behind the Production Name “New Brooklyn Standard”, Eliot produced 2 albums for Christian Rap group Spot Boom and cataloged over 250 tracks between ‘99 and ‘03. Through the years his craft has changed only to make him more confident and assertive behind a break; with a goal to leave a legacy while elevating creativity amongst artist and producers alike, thus in 2005 Urban acoustics is appointed as his musical expression. Sustained, plus evolved Urban Acoustics currently contains over a 50 GB library of music.
