AdoniYah Sinai – Biography

AdoniYah was born in Gary, Indiana. He is the youngest of two siblings. It was during time spent living with his aunt and uncle, who has an extensive music collection, that he discovered his love for music and his lyrical talents at a young age. This allowed him to be exposed to music from different decades making him a man way ahead of his time. Influences included many greats such as, Melly Mel, Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, LL Cool J, KRS ONE, Nas, Jay Z, DMX, Wu Tang Clan, Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Just Blaze J Dilla, Little Brother, Elzhi, 9th Wonder, Biggie and many more from the late 70s up to the early 90s. When he was younger he could often be found running around the house rapping several songs including “I’m Bad” by LL Cool J. However, growing up in Gary, IN, sometimes referred to as "The G", "G.I.", "Gangsta Island", gang banging is rampid, drugs, struggling families, allowed him to relate most to the late TuPac and the struggles he wrote about.

Though very talented, AdoniYah was more of a scholarly kid, and only did emceeing as a hobby. He spent most of his time reading and doing research, which permitted him to excel in his studies as well as several sports while in high school, such as basketball, football and track. From there he decided to further his education by attending the University of Northern Iowa, where he played football. While in both high school and college he could always be found battling his football teammates on the bus, the locker room, and even free styling in the dormitory hallways on a daily basis. Where ever the opportunity presented itself for him to showcase and sharpen his rap skills, he took it with no hesitation.

Finally, after years of pushing his lyrical abilities to the side he chose to really focus on his talent in 2005. He began writing music but hit a road bump when he discovered he did not know how to write or count bars. AdoniYah had spent most of his time free styling and could even go up to 15 minutes rapping, with no pen, no pad, just his voice, his knowledge and extensive vocabulary. After this discovery he became determined to focus on learning the technical aspects of writing music.

AdoniYah began to buckle down and write song after song after song. His style can be best described as raw, heavy, conscious, smooth hip hop. He takes his experiences along with his love for knowledge and puts it to paper, creating mind stimulating songs such as, Perfect Verse, My Heart, Emcee Thorough, Hoodwinked and Respect My Raps.

In, 2009, Adoniyah started Sinai Music, LLC, he up and moved to Nashville, TN in search for better opportunities. With this move he hoped to find better employment, be able to further his music and develop as a songwriter. He has performed at many venues in both Nashville and Iowa, sometimes performing for up to 3000 people. When asked what is it he hopes to accomplish, his answer is “To use my mind and music to connect with people all over the world, positively effect their environment, and be successful in every since of the word. I want to do something for people, take it back to when artist were not just performing in the community but also working with the community. Last but not least, I want to provide you with exceptional, timeless music..”
