Alan Kovin

With the release of the CD and the live show Ballad of a Man, Alan Kovin has popularized a new style of music….Pop Theater. With this hybrid of many styles—specifically, blues, jazz, pop, theater, folk and rock and influenced by some of the great songwriters today (Donald Fagan, Elton John, Andrew Weber, Burt Bacharach, Paul Simon) Alan has created some terrific, unique and melodic music with a message. With lyric imagery reminiscent of Leonard Cohen, Hal David, Charles Aznavour and Carol King, Kovin, the storyteller, weaves a fabric of old and new stories, with lessons that need to be repeated.

Held up mostly in obscurity for the last 15 years, Alan has only now recently ventured into the world of music marketing and merchandising. Most of these past few years have been spent in producing his own catalog at Zonamusic, his well equipped Pro Studio in Central Phoenix. With the advent of our current depression and a wake up call as to his age, Alan is now venturing to market his sizeable catalog and his remarkable abilities for performance, arranging and production.
