FRANKFORT, Ky., July 31,( )2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Buffalo Trace Bourbon Whiskey proudly announces that the 2012 Battle of the Bands contest winner is apply named, Buffalo Head. The five member band from Indianapolis includes Mike Reed, Johnny Galloway, Glen Rose, Jeremy Rose, and Rik Daniels. The band describes its music as, "hard country and southern rock, fueled by hard times, heavy drinking and honkytonk women." These rockers take home the Grand Prize of $5,000.
All participating bands joined online at www.buffalotracesaloon.com or Facebook. They uploaded their music to the Buffalo Trace Jukebox for everyone to enjoy. Altogether there were 966 songs and fans voted for their favorites. Top vote getters were named each month from January through June, with over 15,342 total votes cast. Buffalo Head garnered the most votes (4,177) out of the 373 artists involved. - Buffalo Trace

The high energy-driven country and rock & roll sound of 13 Gunz is at once reminiscent of rough-hewn classic rock, while simultaneously hearkening to a heart-felt, down home charm. The combination of traditional rock and roll appeal with newer country melodies and hook-laden lyrics is gathering them notice in Indiana and beyond.
13Gunz got it's start after Johnny Galloway, Todd Alan and Jeff Bostic departed Buffalo Head. All 3 had a common vision of a sound not limited by traditional classification. After tedious and numerous auditions for a bassist and singer, 13 Gunz struck gold with the audition of Ricky Whyde, and the up and coming singer, Riley Kennedy. 13 Gunz was born.
