"76 Degrees West Band's New Release "Keep Movin On!""

76 DEGREES WEST BAND Keep On Movin On; On Perfect Image Entertainment LLC

It’s time for something brand new from D.C.’s 76 Degrees West Band, starting summer 2013 off with their energized, horn-intensive single, and title track from their forthcoming new album, KEEP ON MOVIN’ ON. Named for the longitude of the D.C. Metro, this amazing band calls their style “Nu Jazz-Funk - Instrumental Funky Jazz Music with Saxophone highlights wrapped in an East Coast Swing.” Bassist/trombonist Leon Rawlings heads up the group, with Eddie Baccus covering most of the sax work;Keep On Moving On; is another stand-out performance continued proof that inside or outside the Beltway, the 76 Degrees West Band is the bomb and we cant wait for the full album due out soon! ~SCOTT OBRIEN

"76 Degrees West Band"

A smooth bit of funky jazz from 76 Degrees West -- a cool combo with a nice sort of bounce in their groove! The group are clearly inspired by 70s funk, but take things towards a more contemporary vein -- often using some tight horn lines in the lead, and snapping rhythms at the bottom -- sometimes in an instrumental groove, sometimes with guest vocals from singers that include Angela Johnson and Gordon Chambers. The sound's much better than other contemporary smooth sets of this nature -- and titles include a remake of "School Boy Crush", plus "Be Careful", "Latin Jam", "Can't Keep Runnin", "Baby Come On", "Your Love Is Real", "This Summer", and "What About That". - Dusty Groove
