Biography

My music is a blend of alternative pop rock from my songwriting roots of acoustic folk rock. My smooth alto, bluesy belt and raw delivery have had my voice compared to that of Fiona Apple, Stevie Nicks, Melissa Etheridge, Kelly Clarkson, Amy Winehouse, & Eddie Vedder.

My song, Down The Line was #1 in Acoustic for September 2009, as well as #1 Fan Favorite and Most Played Song for October 2009 with nearly 15,000 plays and over 179X favorited and climbing by listeners on OurStage.com in association with AOL Music.

My song, Sweet Poison was also Top 10 in Singer-Songwriter for June 2009 on OurStage/AOL Music and featured in Hot Artists, Hot Songs, Fan Favorites.

Conceived on the Sunset Strip in the wake of Haley’s Comet, I was born in Hollywood, California, barely ten months after my parents met on Jam Night at The Old Central, now The Viper Room on the Sunset Strip. I have been blessed with music running through my veins. I do vocals, play rhythm, classical, electric guitar, & have recently taken up piano.

I wrote my 1st song at 11, and I first started playing out on the Los Angeles music scene at 15, when I played at the 1st & 2nd Annual Accept & Respect Festival. By age 16, I was playing on the Sunset Strip and in various Los Angeles clubs such as The Rainbow, The Cat Club, 14 Below, The UnUrban, and The Masquer's Cabaret as a solo acoustic artist. Being under-aged at the time, they’d X my hand, and when my set was over, the club would kick my under-aged friends and me out. So, we'd walk down to the Rainbow Bar & Grill to have pizza, then go home & have a party.

I wrote "Don't Let Me Go" in 2003 with Reana Gallardo. The song was released almost a year later when I had just turned 17. A very spare recording I did of just guitar and vocals went to #1 on the Soundclick (www.soundclick.com) Acoustic Vocals Charts after only 7 days online, and the song remained there for 5 months straight. Several press articles followed, two by Joe Barracato (New York Post, The Industry Resource), and two articles in The Tolucan Times. I gained a lot of international fans from more than 65 countries through SoundClick.com back then.

In May 2006, I was asked to include 4 of my song ringtones on John Doffing's Start Mobile Network, and I performed at the launch after party at Club Otis, in San Francisco. Then, a month later, I formed The Amber Rose Band, and I moved on to larger venues at The Roxy, The Key Club on the Sunset Strip, and at The Tangier on Los Feliz.

As The Amber Rose Band, we made it to the Quarter-Finals in the 1st Bodog Battle of the Bands after playing at The Roxy, and were called back in less than 2 days before Semi-Finals to play at The Key Club. I held my own against 19 of L.A.’s best male, rock vocalists that night alone, not to mention getting the popular online Vote in L.A. to play against thousands of L.A. Bands who signed up on the Bodog BOB site to qualify to begin with. The band broke up after playing only a few more shows, when I was laid up after an auto accident.

I played the Sound Aid Concert in Salem, Oregon in 2007, for The Best of Sound Aid CD Release, which includes my song, "Don't Let Me Go". The Best of Sound Aid CD is for sale on CD Baby. Also check out: www.soundaid.org

It’s back again
Just go away
The image of you still appears always
You were everything I wanted
You just slipped away
Yeah you want me to leave my head
Without your warm embrace
I feel out of place
Why can’t we stop this cycle
Let me be your disciple
Because you meant so much to me

Wait, what am I think’n?
You’ll forsake me with out blink’n
Without blink’n
I can’t feel the grief
I fall down to my knees
My knees
I feel that I would die
Without that lost sparkle you eyes
Oh, …. in those eyes
Those eyes that lie
Yeah Yeah
Do you ever sit down and cry
When you do not even know why
you lied?
I ponder this question always
Are we really unconscientiously soul-less
You’re so soul-less
But it doesn’t matter now
‘Cause the drug is growing fatter
It’s growing more and more and more
Let me give you what you need
Love and not greed
For your taste I plead

Wait, what am I think’n?
You’ll forsake me with out blink’n
Without blink’n
I can’t feel the grief
And fall down to my knees
My knees
I feel that I would die
Without that lost sparkel in those eyes
Those eyes that lie
Yeah Yeah

Why can’t I just taste you one more time?
Feel the poison on my lips and cry
I just want to taste you
Why can’t I taste you?
Just let me taste you!

Wait, what am I think’n?
You’ll forsake me with out blink’n
Without blink’n
I can’t feel the grief
And fall down to my knees
My knees
I feel that I would die
Without that lost sparkel in those eyes
Those eyes that lie
Yeah Yeah
Yeah Yeah

Verse 1
You take the poison, hold it deep inside
You don’t care that tomorrow
you might die
And all the things you’ve aspired to
have left the door
And all the loved ones you had
are gone for sure

Chorus
Don’t let this life bring you down
They’re only sticks and stones
And you’ve been there before
Don’t fear the after-shakes you’ll get
Just think of all of the regrets you’ll have
Later down the line
Down the line (3x)

Verse 2
Well I know she hurt you bad
And it seems too hard to mend
Well I’ve been there before girl
And it will happen once again
That is life as tragic as it may seem
But things will get better I swear if you just let it be

Chorus
Don’t let this life bring you down
They’re only sticks and stones
And you’ve been there before
Don’t fear the after-shakes you’ll get
Just think of all of the regrets you’ll have
Later down the line
Down the line (3x)

Verse 3
You’re so beautiful why can’t you see
You can be anything you want to be
So why do you choose this empty life
full of misery
You just shoot it all away,
shoot away all your dreams

Chorus
Don’t let this life bring you down
They’re only sticks and stones
And you’ve been there before
Don’t fear the after-shakes you’ll get
Just think of all of the regrets you’ll have
Later down the line
Down the line (3x)

Ooooh, oooh, oooh, oooh,
Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh,
Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh,
Ooooh, oooh, oooh, oooh,
Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh,
Oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh, oooh, ahhh, ha ah.

Met you at Hollywood and High
Palms were sweating
My mouth was dry
As you walked up and said hi

Went down to the cemetery
Caught my eye
More than plenty
As you smiled at death

You have those soft blue eyes
That make me want to die inside
And oh your lips
I melt with every kiss

So I’m willing to break that wall for you
As long as I know that you feel it too
Cause I’m not trying to lie
I wanna hold you through
All those cold nights
And I wanted to wipe away your tears
Till all your fears passed you by
So will you be mine?

Well it’s over now and I cannot breath
Should’ve known you’d have me
Falling to my knees
Well I guess you warned me
About all this before
But, now your taste is on my lips
And that I can’t ignore

Cause I’m not trying to lie
Wanted to hold you through
All those cold nights
And I wanted to wipe away your tears
Till all your fears would pass you by

But now you’re not mine
Wooowooo yeahhhh Yeaahhh
Not mine Not mine
Oh why’d you fade away? yeah
Please just say you’ll stay … yeah

Cause I’m not trying to lie
I wanted to hold you through
All those cold nights
And I wanted to wipe away your tears
Till all your fears would pass you by
But now you’re not mine

Let me tell you a little ‘bout my life
About the things I’ve done and seen
It might be a little harsh for you to grasp
But in the end you’ll feel complete
Well I tasted life’s sweet poison on my lips
That I call the Devil’s Kiss
It nearly killed me
It’s taken away everything
It’s created all this pain
All this sadness you see in my eyes

So in this messed up world
How can we fully feel alive?
But we gotta try before
Before we can finally learn how to fly.

But now I’ve become a nervous wreck
Surely a violent threat
‘Cause you always seem to push and push and push
And my head can’t take the stress
So, I’ll put this piece of glass upon my wrist
And I’ll push it until I don’t exist
Then I’ll be gone
And no one will have to deal
With my drowning eyes
Always searching through everyone’s lies

So in this messed up world
How can we fully feel alive?
But we gotta try
Before we can finally learn how to fly

So maybe I’ll try
But then here it comes again
That feeling of pure regret
Well I know there’s no second chances
So good-bye

So in this messed up world
How can we fully feel alive?
But we gotta try
Before we can finally learn how to fly
No, I don’t want to die
So it’s time to say goodbye.
