"Review: "Brand New" by Brittany Spriggs"

Her album may be called “Brand New” and she’s brand new to the recording industry, but you couldn’t tell how new Brittany Spriggs is by listening to the smooth alto voice she offers up on her debut independent Nashville release. Brittany is a Nashville native and a pupil of country music. She credits Reba, Faith Hill and Shania Twain to be among her biggest influences and she’s successfully combined their musical styles to make up her own unique brand of pop country.

Brand New opens with “Deeper,” a power ballad that would put any man at ease. She proclaims in the song that, “she wants to know everything single thing about you that no one else has found.”

The warm and fuzzies turn into hot and feisty feelings on the next track co-written by the same woman who wrote Keith Urban’s number one smash “Stupid Boy.” “Full Moon Friday” is about friends letting loose and having a great time on a Friday night.

The first bit of heart wrench on “Brand New” comes during her traditional country song “I Don’t Know,” where she sings amongst slide and acoustic guitars that she doesn’t know if she’ll ever love again. It seems though that she gets over that man in the next track where she lets him know that the song that their favorite song was better than he ever was.

Brand New is full of heart, great lyrics and killer instrumentation. Often times unsigned artists use drum loops and midi keyboards to make up their sound, “Brand New” features live instruments, raw background vocals and the writing credits make up a “who’s who” of the Nashville songwriter scene. Download this album and share it with your friends. Get Brittany to autograph anything you have nearby because you soon will get to say, “I knew her when.” - iMoveiLive Online Music Magazine - Written by: Jaysen Gold

"Brittany Spriggs' "Brand New""

Brand New is billed as the debut album of Nashville singer Brittany Spriggs. At five tracks some would call it an EP, but maybe that’s just semantics. Either way it’s fair to call it a radio-friendly first outing for an up-and-coming country artist.
Country by the current Nashville definition, that is – glossy pop with a bit of twang. Spriggs’ father, Nashville guitarist and songwriter Michael Spriggs, produced the project and plays acoustic guitar, accompanied by a competent cast of fellow Music City veterans, including past or current members of Little Texas and Jason Aldean’s road band.
All of it is in service to Brittany’s voice, which sounds great – from soft and warm on the quiet ballads (“Deeper,” “I Don’t Know”) to powerful on the rockers (“Full Moon Friday,” “That Song Was Better Than You,” “Undone”). Whether the material is distinctive enough to make Brittany Spriggs a star remains to be seen, but Brand New seems like a promising start. - Americana Music News written by: Paul T. Mueller

Bio

Born and raised in Nashville, TN it is no surprise that Brittany Spriggs has a love for country music. Her father Michael Spriggs, a professional studio musician and songwriter, passed his passion for music down to his daughter at an early age. Growing up Brittany's home was always filled with creativity and the love for performing arts. At the age of three, Brittany began taking dance classes and fell in love with being on stage.

While continuing to dance through her teen years, Brittany also sang in the church choir, took drum lessons, and began song writing. With the inspiration of country female powerhouses like Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, and Faith Hill, Brittany's interests narrowed into becoming a professional singer. Hoping to one day follow in the footsteps of her idols, Brittany began working with one of Nashville's premiere vocal coaches, Jessica Ford. With Jessica's unique approach to coaching, Brittany found her true voice.

With an increased focus and determination to succeed, Brittany released her first independent EP in 2013. Teaming with her father, Michael Spriggs, Brittany combined her talents with Nashville pros Kurt Allison, Tully Kennedy, Rich Redmond, Russ Pahl, and Charlie Judge to create a sound that is uniquely hers. Brittany's latest release, Brand New, displays her range of vocal capabilities and paves the road for Nashville's new sound. Her confidence and integrity is found in each track of the album.

Since the completion of her album, "Brand New," Brittany is well on her way to making her dreams come true. She has had her music featured on both syndicated and online radio as well as major steaming airplay. Her single "Full Moon Friday" was released on a national radio campaign in the fall of 2013. Since, the single has charted on Music Row as well as New Music weekly and continues to rise.
