Bio

After you sit back and listen to a few original songs played by Cameron, you realize there is a lot of passion and emotion that go into his songs. He is only 19 years old but this self-taught guitar player and songwriter has a lot to say. Born in 1988, he listened to country music when he was little. Fortunately for him, Texas Music exploded and he was exposed to the likes of Robert Earl Keen, Pat Green, Roger Creager, and Jack Ingram. Every chance he could, he was attending concerts at Schroeder Dance Hall in Schroeder, Texas , 20 minutes from his hometown of Victoria. As Texas Music grew, so did Cameron’s influences—Cross Canadian Ragweed, Randy Rogers, Reckless Kelly, Eli Young, Ryan Turner, Brandon Rhyder, and Stoney LaRue.

At age 16, he voiced an interest in playing guitar. His Dad taught him 3 chords and off he went. From there, the first songs came. In the spring of 2006, at 18, and after high school graduation, he recorded a 5 song demo of original work produced by Stormy Cooper, bass player for the Roger Creager Band. Along with Stormy, most of the Roger Creager Band was also behind him- Matt Baker playing acoustic and lead guitar, Matt Meadaris playing drums, and Allan Huff on organ.

Fall of 2006 landed Cameron at Texas State University majoring in Business Management. Balancing school and music, Cameron has spent most of the last year writing songs, collaborating ocassionally with his brother or college roommate. He has mostly played Victoria and San Marcos along side such acts as Roger Creager, Micky and the Motorcars, Jarrod Birmingham, and Robert Earl Keen. Most Wednesdays, you can find him hanging out at Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos at Songwriter’s Circle.

Cameron’s songs range from the fun loving beer and road trip songs to the deep emotional songs about friendship and love. There is something for everyone to relate to in his music.

“My main goal when writing a song is creating something that people can relate to, a feeling - something that gives the listener chills, something deep.” - Cameron
