Coax Rhino initially had my attention in their clutches because of the superb photograph at the top of their myspace page. Fortunately my initial pleasure was sustained even after hearing the music online. Coax Rhino had what could be described as an Indie sound, but don’t be alarmed: it’s not tedious or uninteresting. Instead, Coax Rhino has a cutting edge.
It is not quite as obscene as the punk scene of the 1970s, but just listen to Don’t You Know should you require proof of Coax Rhino’s legitimacy as a band that can mix the aggression of the Hives with compelling song writing. Steinberg, McGinley, Dailey, and Sondej have provided EPs for free download, and with so much controversy about illegal file sharing, why not listen to unsigned bands whose music is their own? Listen to Coax Rhino. - Ultimate Guitar
You sit in the basement of a
comfortable house on Lake
Drive in Guilford and find yourself
rocking and moving - your feet
tapping - as three amplified guitars
and a set of drums beat and surge
and ripple to the strains of SWGC.
It is a reggae rock song written by
all four members NoG Jam, a twoyear- old group that consists of three Guilford High School soccer players
and the captain of both the GHS basketball and baseball squads...
And if you had been in Dailey's
basement last week, listening to NoG Jam rock, there is little doubt if are in need of a band with a captivating sound that is uniquely theirs, you would now be reaching for a telephone right now! - Shoreview-New Haven Register
