Common Bond

Common Bond! A truly impressive band!



Having heard Common Bond on triple J playing their original song, “Chasing Amy”…I took up the opportunity to hear them live at the Dampier Youth Group on Saturday 2nd July 2011.



Being a Recording Engineer/Audio Director involved with Television for close on 30 years recording mostly mainstream music, it was refreshing to listen to something “different”.



Common Bond have a rather unique sound, a mixture of Heavy Metal, Death Core and Hardcore…their music truly relates to their times and youth frustrations.



They are a bunch of guys out of Karratha/Dampier, about to go to great heights, so long as they all stay together as they compliment each other well. It is sad to see so many bands start out well, then go down the “gurgler”



Dev, Jackson and Kris are amazing guitar players that write original riffs with Bodhi a young 16 year old Drummer just “kicking arse” with his awesome drums action combined with that hard to control double kick drum.



Corey is the front man with a style of his own, very rarely heard even in Heavy Metal. His growl can be somewhat chilling at times combined with his high pitched almost scream like vocals, leaving the hair on the back of your neck standing straight up. He connected well with the audience and had a powerful presentation…a great front man.

Their music is just infectious with a lot of energy in their live show and their followers just love them.



I think it's great they're experimenting with different styles of music; it shows that they're not your normal, boring or average rock band. …Not only are they a great band, they are all very talented musicians.



Gotta love these guys…I can't wait to hear them play again.
