Biography

CORE is not your average hard rock band. Hailing from South Dakota they are sure to be the next big thing to come out of the Midwest. For fans of Staind, Sevendust and Papa Roach, CORE approach songwriting honestly and are dedicated passionate musicians. This power trio provides a tight rhythm section that produces a brutal sound which is balanced by tender yet powerful vocal harmonies reminiscent of Layne Staley. Equal parts heavy riffs and delicate acoustics, CORE's music is emotionally charged and unique.

They have opened for popular national acts SHINEDOWN, BUCKCHERRY, SEVENDUST, SALIVA, RED, SAVING ABEL, POP EVIL, CANDLEBOX, SEASON'S AFTER, CAVO, DAYS OF THE NEW, WES BORELAND (of Limp Bizkit, and Black Light Burns), THE DREAMING, CINDER ROAD, DROPPING DAYLIGHT, & CHRIS VOLZ.

CORE have a devoted regional following and are currently playing out in support of their much anticipated Sophmore CD, "St. Judas Day Parade" released in July 2010. The singles "Dig", "Live Forever", and "You're So Fake" are currently getting airplay through out the midwest on active rock and college radio stations. CORE's debut album "We All Fall Down" earned rave reviews from TAXI & cdreview.com, citing the songs "Eisoptrophobia", "Confession", and "Calling John Coffey" as favorites. Both albums are available on ITUNES as well as RHAPSODY, V-CAST VERIZON, NAPSTER, CDREVIEW.COM, DIGSTATION, & CDBABY.

Lyrics

CALLING JOHN COFFEY

Written By: Jeremy Johnson

This always passes by too fast...
When memories are just reminders of misused chance.
I don't want this, 'cause I don't need this...
I already feel so low on my own.

So just bring him back, with no strings attached...
and I'll be your puppet if you come back.

Can your hear me now...I'm screaming...
"John Coffey, can you take this back???
...to the time when nothing mattered...
Far from the time that we washed ourselves in black"

Well, life seemed to pass you by to fast...
My memories are just reminders of misused chance.

So, why would you take this away...what did I do to you?
I know that I'll be o.k. ...if I could just forgive you...

So, can your hear me now...I'm screaming...
"John Coffey, can you take this back???
...to the time when nothing mattered...
Far from the time that we washed our hands in black"

LIVE FOREVER

Written By: Jeremy Johnson

Do you like how you’re living?
Do you have any regret?
What would you do if I showed you just how long forever is?
‘Cause I know that you’re broken
by the tear stained streaks on your face.
With decisions so fragile
You seem so out of place

So, let me ask you a question:
Do you want to live forever…
If forever is just like this?
It’s obvious you’re going nowhere…If you don’t understand, this moment is all we get.

We take so much for granted
Entitlement is birthright today…
Why would you wait for tomorrow
What you could remedy today?
And I know that you’re choking…
Holding back tears of disgrace
With emotions so fragile
You seem so out of place

Would you say good-bye to everything you’ve known
Just to see if forever is too long?

DIG

Written By: Jeremy Johnson

Hat in hand, here I am…
I can barely crawl to places that I used to stand

This turbulence has knocked me down
And it feels like I am breaking
If this is life’s big lesson then I never will relive this

CHORUS:
I’ve buried myself so far that I can’t see the light
It’s over my head so far that nothing feels right
So will you try to help me if I make you understand
I’m only doing the best I can?

Black and Blue I’m here for you
Battered, beaten, and criticized for everything I do

This turbulence has knocked me out
But I know that I can take it,
‘cause I’ve been punch drunk before and I’m still here to resist it

If I was like them then I’d just walk between the rain drops
But with this funnel cloud I’m beneath the storm never seems to stop
It must be nice to sit back and watch me fall to pieces
But by the time that I’m done with you
I’ll wipe the smile from your faces
… and we’ll see if you can take it…and then you’ll say:

“I’ve buried myself so far that I can’t see the light
It’s over my head so far that nothing feels right”

But you never tried to help me, so now I understand.
I learned to be a stronger man.

HATE ME HARDER

Written By: Jeremy Johnson

I couldn’t care less about your little scene,
Your rules, and everything that you think about me.
And I’m not impressed with what you pretend to be
Use me for my connections, then pretend you don’t even know me
Revisionist history, and mediocrity,
You’ve got a firm grip on the only things that you can achieve…

Hate me harder…it does not bother…
Because you are fueling me to become what you wish you could be

CHORUS:
I know it must drive you insane each time you hear them speak my name
If I promise to miss you will you leave and stay the fuck away from me?
Living with you is killing me…

I won’t forget all the times I wasn’t good enough…
for you, and everyone one in your little club
So unimpressed with who you pretend to be
…the worst I’ve ever done is the best that you’ll never be
Groupthink Democracy, designed to exclude me
You’ve won the first place prize for shallow and unclean.

YOU'RE SO FAKE

Written By: Jeremy Johnson

Do anything that you can do to make me notice you
Say anything that you can say so I won’t walk away
Despite your best attempts you failed to impress…

There’s not a word that you have said that resonates inside my head
There’s not a song that you can sing that will keep me from noticing…

You’re so fake, it makes me sick but I know why you do it
So Un-authentic but I know it’s the only way you can do it
…with all the energy you waste on car crash marketing gimmicks

Do everything that you can do to make me remember you
Change everything about yourself so I won’t know the truth
Dress up just like your idols, but your still a mess…

We’ll slow down to take a peek making sure to be discreet
But then we’ll all just drive away, leaving you to rot away
