On their debut EP, Relapse, Cougar Fight demonstrates a relentless mix of guitar driven rock songs that tie together far reaching influences to create an instantly identifiable sound. The self-produced release is a glimpse into the vision of a Nashville band looming on the horizon and hints at bigger things to come.
Cougar Fight grew out of late night conspiracies, arguments about what it takes to create music that matters, why it matters to play rock music as the world ends. Kellen and Ben basically grew up together in Nashville. Ben went on to sign a deal as frontman of Nashville act Llama, and spent the next few years touring the U.S. When he and Kellen started writing songs again they realized they were on to something different and started recording demos.
Rob was whiskey drunk at a birthday party when he heard Ben and Kellen's demos. Always impressed with Ben's powerful voice, the dynamic guitars and solid songwriting were all he needed to hear. The three started playing together a few weeks later and Cougar Fight was born.
They spent a year carving out a basement studio and writing song after song. Now, with a 5 song EP completed and 20 more songs slated for the studio this spring, Cougar Fight is preparing to win over audiences around the world.
