2011 was a rewarding year with the release of 2 cds, one as a hammond organ soloist with The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra, and the other as the pianist in the Ira Sullivan Quintet. 2012 figures to an exciting year with the upcoming release of his new piano trio cd featuring Matt Wilson and Joe Sanders.

Biography

Dan Trudell has been voted "a rising star" by Downbeat Magazine and has recently toured with Matt Wilson's "Arts and Crafts" quartet featuring Terrell Stafford and Dennis Irwin in Italy. Dan's group the B3 Bombers was featured on the main stage of the 2007 Chicago Jazz Festival. Dan holds the piano chair in the Chicago Jazz Orchestra and has performed on piano/organ with Aretha Franklin, Bob Mintzer, Kenny Burrell, Ron Carter, Ira Sullivan, Benny Golson, Buddy DeFranco, Roy Hargrove, Jeff Hamilton, Kurt Elling, Greg Tardy, Jesse Davis, Joe Magnorelli, Melvin Sparks, Alvin Queen, Anne Hampton Calloway, Joe Williams, Jimmy Heath, Doug Lawrence, Jerry Weldon, Jim Rotondi, and Eric Alexander among others. Dan's piano style has been compared to Ahmad Jamal, McCoy Tyner, and Red Garland. His organ style is greatly influenced by the greats who came before him such as Lonnie Smith, Jimmy Smith, Don Patterson, and Brother Jack McDuff. Dan resides and performs in the Chicago area and has toured and performed throughout the world.
