"The Wrangler is Back!"

This time Mr. Wrangler has decided to tackle the Beasties and Kanye West/Twista. Two different tracks two different approaches. If the Beastie Boys track would have been released in 98 it would have had Big Beat Anthem stamped all over it...a post-classic if there ever was one. Meanwhile, the Kanye/Twista track pumps up the energy level like 100 times and lets Underworld run all over the thing. It's yet another post 90's anthem. - The POP! Stereo

"DAVE WRANGLER IS ALL ABOUT THE PARTY"

"A Couple of The XX Remixes"

We’ve had a couple of reMixes of The XX (who, apparently, haven’t split up) drop into the electronic rumors Inbox this week, so listen up!

Dave Wrangler take on the track ‘Stars’ and ends up with an almost old school EBM powerhouse, all heavy kick drum and arpeggios which seems to counterpoint the sparkling melody line. - Electronic Rumors

"Dave Wrangler - The XX "Stars" (Dave Wrangler Remix)"

Another incredible XX remix. Play it for your girlfriend, then play with her. - Gotta Dance Dirty

"Dave Wrangler is Under the Influence"

Rocks Off mentioned this right after Houston's main man on the mash-ups, Dave Wrangler, agreed to DJ tonight's Washington Shore party (8 p.m., rain or shine) at the Washington Avenue Drinkery, but it's worth repeating. Wrangler's got a new 18-track collection of mix-n-match music, Under the Influence, featuring everyone from The xx, Hercules & Love Affair and YACHT to Slim Thug, Herbie Hancock and Kool & the Gang. Dude's diverse.
We gave you a sneak preview, too.
Wednesday, Wrangler announced via email that he's printed up 500 hard copies of Under the Influence to promote at SXSW... but he might be willing to part with some of them if you hit him up at davewrangler@gmail.com. He's also got a new Web site design if you're even more digitally inclined.
We know that track listing is a little hard to read up there, so check it out - and a few more previews, recommended by Wrangler himself - after the jump.
1. Beastie Boys vs. Kool & the Gang, "Hey Ladies"
2. Slim Thug, "Diamonds"

"Dave Wrangler-Juicy Cameras (Matt & Kim x Notorious B.I.G.)"

I came across another cool mix by Dave Wrangler. Wrangler is a producer/ DJ remixer. He is best known for his awesome remixes and mashups. Wrangler is based out of Houston and has a unique ability of mixing different sounds and genres of music very well. In this mix Wrangler is taking the timeless sounds of B.I.G in Juicy and Matt & Kim’s catchy beat in Cameras creating a solid mashup. Definitely check this one out. - All Sick Sounds

"Dave Wrangler - D'yer Hip-Hop (Dead Prez x Led Zeppelin)"

Good mashup from Houston based deejay/producer, Dave Wrangler. Dead Prez over a Led Zeppelin’s classic, “D’yer Mak’er.” Check it and follow Dave Wrangler for more mashup goodness. Best. - Best 4 Years

"Red Hot Chili Peppers- Under The Bridge (Dave Wrangler Art Of Noise Remix)"

I know you guys have been complaining that we’ve been focusing too much on EDM/Dubstep and we’re working to correct that problem. We’re going to be adding a new Hip-Hop/Rap writer very soon and spreading out our musical tastes like we used too. This remix is definitely not going to be for everyone as some might claim its borderline sacrilege to touch any tracks off of ‘Blood Sugar Sex Magik’ but Dave Wrangler goes a different route in this remix of “Under the Bridge”. This is best described as tripped/glitched out and really makes the track into an audio experience. Get a good pair of headphones and check out “the Art of Noise”. - Dirty Mexican Lemonade

"DW_I Mix"

One hour and twelve minutes of Dave Wrangler killing this mix. - Mashupciti

"Afrojack x Foster the People- “Pumped Up Kicks (Dave Wrangler Take Over Control Remix)”"

I made a personal promise to myself a few weeks ago not to post any more “Pumped Up Kicks” remixes. It has been remixed, mashed, and blended to death. . . . and then some. However, Dave Wrangler just released his Afrojack // Foster the People mashup, and of the plethora of “Pumped Up Kicks” remixes available, it’s one of my favorites. I feel like I’d be unjustifiably discriminating against Mr. Wrangler by not posting it merely because of it’s use of “Pumped Up Kicks.” My new promise is to post only exceptional remixes/mashups of “Pumped Up Kicks,” and I believe this track fits squarely in that category. Give it a listen and be sure to check out more from DJ/Producer Dave Wrangler at davewrangler.com. - Bass Pirate

"Dave Wrangler"

I know I am a little late on this post (like a year late), but I ran into this remix of his the other week, and I thought it was above par...Bump this one loud. - Ear Cande

"Afrojack x Foster the People- “Pumped Up Kicks (Dave Wrangler Take Over Control Remix)”"

Two of the most requested songs unite. - Bingo Balls

"Was macht eigentlich Dave Wrangler?"

"Washed Out - You and I (Dave Wrangler Dub Remix)"

Into instrumental music? Looking for a song to kick back and relax to? Well, you’ve come to the right place. Dave Wrangler remixes “You and I” by chillwave musician Washed Out (formerly known as Ernest Greene). If this is your first time listening to Dave, don’t make it your last. His SoundCloud features remixes of various genres, including rap, hip-hop, electro, and indie rock. You’re guaranteed to find something adhering to your musical taste. - Dirty Mexican Lemonade

"Afrojack x Foster the People- “Pumped Up Kicks (Dave Wrangler Take Over Control Remix)”"

Dave Wrangler has been in the DJ-ing and producing game for about 12 years now, and his experience is made evident by the masterpieces that are of his hand. He’s undoubtedly one of the most consistent DJs and mashup artists out there. This is yet another rework of “Pumped Up Kicks” by Foster the People, and what makes it stand out is that it’s mashed with Afrojack‘s “Take Over Control.” Who would’ve thought these songs could work so well together? Clearly Dave Wrangler did, and he made it happen. Save the applause and just hit the dance floor. - In Audio We Trust

"Pumped Up Kicks"

In this very simple mash-up, dave Wrangler takes Foster the People’s ‘Pumped Up Kicks’ and Take Over Control by Afrojack and blends it into a very catchy house mix. This is a very simple mash-up, but by taking two of the catchiest tracks right now you don’t really need to get too out there when it comes to blending them….. Enjoy! - GoodMusicAllDay

"Dave Wrangler"

Genres hardly exist for Dave Wrangler, Houston, Texas man who seems to cranking out mashups, remixes, and blends like the rest of us do lunch and dinner. In fact, It looks like he's only been making musical offerings to the masses since the beginning of 2008, so his plethora of tunes is all the more impressive. - Mashuptown

"All Ears: Dave Wrangler's Under the Influence"

Houstonist knows that the crux of a party is the music - get it wrong, and your event is toast, but get it right and your party is the place to be. In this day and age, "anyone can be a DJ" right? Just load up a sweet playlist and go track to track.

Wrong: the world of the DJ is perilous: tragedy awaits, coiled and poised to strike in the form of an improperly selected song, a gear malfunction, or an over-enthusiastic party-goer. Fortunately, a good DJ has been well-versed in party crisis management, able to quickly rectify any situation that may arise. We know a few folks in this town who are more than capable behind a set of tables, and one of those is honorable Dave Wrangler. Thus, you can understand our excitement when Dave sent us his newest collection of mashups and remixes, Under The Influence. - Houstonist

"Cee Lo Green - Bright Lights Bigger City (Dave Wrangler Radio 1 Remix)"

In case you were wondering what's been consuming my obsessive listening tendencies lately, it's not Cee-Lo Green's new album, The Lady Killer. No, frankly, it's a bit long in the tooth and comes off as a major yawner. Sure there are a few choice cuts sprinkled in, but none as fantastic as Bright Lights Bigger City, and thanks to our buddy Dave Wrangler coming in with jauntier mix of the track, we can forget we ever spun the entire disc. So just toss this remix on for 45.8 minutes in repetition, which is how long you'd waste your time 'earing up on Green's solo effort. - Sheena Beaston

"Artist remixed: Kid Cudi"

With the ability to download an entire studio for immediate use (on your lap), there are thousands of popular artists out there making new singles all the time. But with this influx of bedroom producers, original songs have become more scarce. From all these bedroom producers we are seeing one thing, and that is absolutely fantastic, manipulated, warped remixes.

OVERALL FAVOURITE REMIX
My overall favourite remix is the Dave Wrangler remix. The overall level of relaxation this remix sends through my body is unbelievable. Enjoy. - Earmilk.com

"Afrojack x Foster the People (Dave Wrangler Take Over Control Remix)"

Not the typical thing we get from Dave Wrangler. A bit more mainstream sounding than usual. Thats a good thing. This works really well and I’m going to be able to play the hell out of it for college kids. - White Folks Get Crunk

"Blogger's Favorite in 2009"

Dave Wrangler remix of the classic 'Staring at the Sun' track by TV On The Radio. Yet another quality piece of work by someone who is fast becoming a blogger's favorite in 2009. Staring At The Sun (Dave Wrangler's Conscience Clear Remix) - TV On The Radio - We Are Hunted

"Notorious BIG Remix"

Continuing the theme from yesterday of mixing hip hop with robotic beats, Dave Wrangler has sent in hist latest remix featuring Biggie's Nasty Girl blended with an instrumental from electro funk group Ghostland Observatory's Heavy Heart. Purists may cringe at the idea of combining the two, but it ends up sounding like something the Neptunes might have put together for the Clipse circa 2001. Peep: - 33Jones

"Houston Mash-up Master"

Houston mash-up master Dave Wrangler recently remixed Animal Collective's "My Girls," from the Brooklyn buzzmongers' brand-new Merriweather Post Pavilion, for German Web site Byte.fm. It's something of a hit - "Since I put it out, I've had numerous inquiries for DJ bookings all over the country," he reports.

Check it out below, plus his inspired pairing of Hercules & Love Affair and Ludacris' "Stand Up!"; both tracks appear on Wrangler's forthcoming Heads Up Houston mix CD. - Houston Press

"Producer of the Moment"

The hype leading up to the Animal Collective show on May 31st in Tucson is nearing a boiling point. In order to relieve a little bit of that pressure, here’s a remix of AC’s newest single “My Girls”. This remix comes from Houston based producer/remixer of the moment, Dave Wrangler. - Factory Made Future

"Rolling Stone-LIFE OF THE PARTY DJ MIX"

Just in time for Memorial Day is this week’s goldmine: Houston DJ Dave Wrangler transforms indie hits till their dancefloor proper. It’s like when everyone leaves school for summer vacation, and then they come back the next year and the old captain of the debate team is all into Slayer and body modification.
