Dirty Avenues E.p . Like the Times
The Manchester lads are right on the money with what I call a epic E.P , as someone who has never heard of them before, I am more then happy I have now. These lads can play about with pleasant pop textures and have that current band appeal already.
''Eighteen'' is a major stand out track that has a King's Of Leon feel, it could quite easily sit in as a track number from Only By The Night. Voice over lyrics which gave the track real meaning and could become a major stadium anthem, I would buy this E.P just for this track alone.
''Let it go'' uses a mixture of base and electric guitar to smoothly filter through the melodic track. The beat throughout the song builds higher and higher on the ear, the lyrics are cold but the melody is soothing.
''Rain'' a moody slow number about a girl who hinds her disguise. The use of the Harmonica is very apparent throughout and adds real quality to the track.
The sound of the Dirty Avenues is very dynamic rock, softer and more pleasurable on the ear, Chris Niebel is one stand out front man with a Keane Esq quality.

- Dirty Avenues
DIRTY AVENUES- Mainstream pop textures but with a passionate approach make this a sort of scallied out Keane with a Bowie factor and nice cyclical guitar play. Pleasant on the ear but not afeared to rock out with some dynamic. Mancs meets Doves vibes…

Bio
Dirty Avenues where formed in city of Manchester, England during the summer of 2007. The band has made a few changes to its lineup during the last couple of years before finally finding the perfect blend of musicians and "personalties".
Although formed and based in Manchester the band has an international membership, the drummer Dave is from Scotland, Angelos the bassist is from Greece, Eugene the synthist/keys is from Russia and Andy and Chris the Guitarist and Vocalist are native Mancunians.
With this unique blend of nationalities comes a unique sound, drawing influences from bands as wide ranging as, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, White Lies, if these trees could talk, David Bowie, etc. The resultant sound is a distinctive blend of modern indie rock Pop.
The band pride themselves on energetic and uplifting live performances.
2010 saw the band play numerous shows and festivals across the country contributing to the ever increasing fan base.
Highlights of the year were when the lads headlined the Urmston music festival in summer in front of a 5,000 + capacity crowd and played their first "stadium" :) gig to a 3500 capacity crowd @ Manchester Phoenix Ice hockey stadium.
2011 should prove to be an even bigger year as the band travel to the US in march and release their debut Ep "Like the Times"
