Biography

Hi there-

Depending which of my parents you'd ask, my name is Secret.

I sing, play piano and guitar, and write songs. I love recording and live performance. The extremely talented musicians I play out with are also my friends. I feel fortunate to know and play with such great people as Karl Haug, Otha Major, and my friend James Riley, who finds himself more every day. My pixie siren daughters, Chelsie and Carlee, often provide velvet, crysalline vox. You can hear them both singing as young girls, as they were featured in "Chelsie Don't Cry".

I have also had the very good fortune to record with Mac Charles, Jon Hedges, S. Weniger, Carmelo Bonaventura, Eric Branner,Tommy Cook and Eric Johnson.

You can find me playing out around town in the Seattle/Vancouver BC/Portland areas, with an occasional jaunt to The Other Side of the Pond.

I am a servent of my Art. Every opportunity that was ever presented me musically, has it's source from someone who heard me play live, where ever that may have been, and felt a desire to participate with me in what I create musically.

The best open mic I've ever played, is right here in Redmond, at a place called Soul Food Books. I can't even describe how awesome it is, you must go check it out. Ask for Clint, tell him hi.

Lyrics

Leave Tonight

Written By: Divine Discontents

You look so sweet when you're sawing logs
The cats are fed so are the dogs
C'mon wake up I got sumpthin to tell you

The car is packed the tank's on full
I can feel the Wanderlust moon pull
in the cruciferous directions she calls to

Stay awake or sleeep all night
Whatever you feel like doing's alright
We got time and no plans to bind us

Don't you shake your head and say no
C'mon c'mon c'mon let's go
Leave the "real world" where it can't find us

If we leave tonight
We can get there by morning
If you're feeling alright
We'll drive on through the day

I want a home cooked meal from a small town kitchen
Large brown eggs from a local chicken
A foreign accent selling us on corn cakes

A view so unreal it must be a screen saver
A Margarita in every flavor
We'll get there we don't care how long it takes

Stay awake or sleep all night
Whatever you want to do is alright
We got time and no plans to bind us

Don't you shake your head and say no
C'mon c'mon c'mon lets go
Leave the real world where it can't find us

If we leave tonight
We can get there by morning
If you're feeling alright
We'll drive on through the day

Leave tonight
No Red Sky Sailor Warning
If you're feeling alright

We'll drive on through the day
Drive on through the night
Drive on through the day

All I am

Written By: Divine Discontents

Can you take me as I am
Forgive me where I've been
I can lead, I can follow
Help me understand

Will you have me as I come
Turn your head on things I've done
You can lead you can follow

At night I am awake laying there
Knowing you're the one for sure
I want to be the one who knows
Who knows your temperature
I won't ever let you get cold
I'll keep you warm
Let me know
Fill me in
If you can take me as I am

All, all I am
Is all, all I am not yet
All I am
Is all I am not

Let me know if you can take me as I am

***

If you change your future you change your history
And now, now you know, you know what's wrong with me
As I fall away, fall away from yesterday
You'd better know if you can love me anyway

All I am
I am not

All I am
I am not

So now, tell me, where do we go from here
