Bio

DJ JST (a name derived from his initials, but pronounced gist) is a classically trained violinist and graduate from the University of Michigan, School of Music. In 2004 after working in Information Technology for several years, he decided that it was time to bring his focus back to music and pursue a career that he could be passionate about.

He plunged himself into studying the art of mixing and electronic music production with a primary focus on European DJ influences. Shortly after, he started spinning house parties in his South End neighborhood, and quickly gained notoriety to become the Sunday night resident at one of Boston's hottest lounges, 28 Degrees. In both June 2006 and June 2007, he opened for Tracy Young at Boston Pride and continued on his way by making appearances at Felt, Rumor, and Shine. He also headlined at Purr in Seattle during Seattle's Pride weekend 2007, sharing the spotlight with Jenna Drey, Alyson, Reina, Lauren Hildebrandt, Jacinta and Erin Hamilton.

Most recently, DJ JST headlined Massachusetts Youth Pride Festival, and Salem MA's very first Pride Party Cruise along with Jenna Drey. DJ JST along with Billboard recording artists Jenna Drey & Jenn Cuneta shared the spotlight on Fusion Radio's Float in the 2008 Chicago Pride Parade.

DJ JST explains "For me, music is easy to fall in love with, because I know that it will always be there. I am an autobiographical DJ and I spin the tracks which hold meaning in my life. When I am behind the decks, I'm not just playing music. I am expressing myself to the world and sharing with those who care to listen".

Now working on some exciting new production and collaboration projects in the studio, DJ JST is on his way to becoming one of the hottest commodities on the DJ circuit.
