"EveryBody Knows Video Release"

FASIV has released the first music video in support of their new record Ride, a sprawling, double-album showcasing the group's expanding range of influences and forays into genre experimentation.

The video itself is a bit stranger than you would initially expect from the straightforward rock vibe of the song. It's a psychedelic spaghetti-western pizza party, full of kaleidoscopic visual effects and disorienting cuts, a stoner haze hanging over the suggestive nature of the images. Not only is the band exploring new sonic territory, they seem to be intent on warping your vision too.

If you haven't seen the former Strange Hotel in its new incarnation yet, you can check out the group live this Saturday at the Elbo Room - The Bay Bridged

"San Francisco Chronicle Interview"

If you’re into indie rock layered with a bit of soul and a dash of prog rock, then check out Strange Hotel. The San Francisco band’s first record, “All the World Is a Strange Hotel,” came out in March. - SF Chronicle

"Epiphone Video Premier"

San Francisco based Illusion of Self has been stirring up the music industry as of late. The band blends the vibe and tones of classic 60's and 70's rock with an aggressive, emotional, feel of the 90's while remaining modern and progressive. Check out the video for Psychosomatic Killer where vocalist/guitarist Frank Salazar makes good use of his Epiphone Sheraton-II. - Epiphone

"Do415 Introducing"

Blending classic, psychedelic, and acoustic rock in their own unique way, Strange Hotel has been creating a local buzz since they formed earlier this year. Vocalist/guitarist Frank Abreau sometimes sounds like Mercury. Sometimes like Dylan. Other times like Jack Russell from Great White or some other 80s glam metal singer. His band, which also consists of guitarist Sean Reilly, drummer Tim Aristil, and bassist Miles DeIaco, recently released their full length debut album, All the World is a Strange Hotel. Do415 sat down with the self-described ‘gothedelic’ group to discuss how they met while working at a church, their evolution from studio project to full-fledged live band, and their new music video. Read on for our interview and check out the exclusive video premier for their album’s title track below. - Do415

"Strange Hotel Becomes FASIV"

Formerly a parallel side project to Strange Hotel, FASIV is now the official moniker for the mighty San Francisco rockers.

The group has finally decided to combine both projects under one umbrella in order to showcase the diversity of their music and expanding array of influences. It's more of an evolutionary step forward than a total re-branding, and the band is kicking off the name change with a string of Bay Area shows in March, an upcoming music video, and a South By Southwest showcase.

So don't freak out. Their music will continue to kick ass. - The Bay Bridged
