"Youth Legacy Showcase - The Fraser Melvin Blues Band"

Each year in May the festival supports the Kitchener Blues Festival Youth Legacy Showcase. The event is open to young musicians throughout the Grand River area in Southwestern Ontario and beyond.
As in the past, this event demonstrated the depth of great talent which continues to grow in the youth of the community. Congratulations are in order for such a diverse display of fantastic young talent displayed by all of the young musicians.
On Sunday May 2, 2010, the audience enjoyed K-W’s own Colin White as a 3 piece and Arjun Von Hatten as a Duo. Brantford shined through with Sean LeSage as a Solo and Jordan Percival Dan Stec as a Duo.
Selected this year to represent youth talent at the TD Kitchener Blues Festival: THE FRASER MELVIN BLUES BAND. Watch for them opening on the Main Stage on Saturday at the Kitchener Blues Festival this August. Congratulations and thanks for all the volunteers that helped out to stage such an impressive event.

The Fraser Melvin Blues Band was formed in 2003 by friends Fraser Melvin (Guitar & Vocals) and Alex Furlott (Bass). With a revolving door of other musicians, the current lineup consists of Jon Hyde (Drums), Josh Cavan (Keys), and Andrew Moljgun (Saxes). All enrolled in Humber College’s music program, this quintet plays a mixture of music, fusing blues, jazz, and soul. The Fraser Melvin Blues Band is an exciting and entertaining band to listen for in the future. - Kitchener Blues Festival
