"Spotlight On: Green Light Theory"

Los Angeles-based quartet and Sonicbids act Green Light Theory just released its debut EP in February. Packed with crunchy guitars and earnest enthusiasm, the six songs on A Gift From Your Ex-Boyfriend veer through lovestruck, tuneful songs reminiscent of Cali pop-punk and Midwestern emo. We recently caught up with Corey Rutchland (guitars, lead vocals), Scott Waldman (guitars, vocals) Drew Holliday (drums) and Kyle Rutchland (vocals, bass) to chat about the band's brief but brisk existence.

Bio

Green Light Theory is a new alternative rock band with emo and pop punk influences. You'll feel a bit nostalgic of the music from the early 2000's when you hear their sound. They are four musicians ranging from Hawaii, New York, and California. The organically formed band started with brothers Kyle (bass/vocals) & Corey Rutchland (vocals/rhythm guitar). When looking for a respectable opinion about a song they wrote, they turned to their close friend, Scott Waldman. Falling in love with the song, Scott joined Green Light Theory as the lead guitarist and back up vocalist. The drummer position was filled by a friend Kyle made while working at Starbucks, Drew Holliday. Their first practice together went better than ever expected. Booking their first show at The Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood just four months later, Green Light Theory is on their way!
