Bio
Somewhere between folk, jazz and blues lies the music of Holly Taymar.
With an achingly beautiful voice, delicate, finger picked acoustic guitar, a repertoire of unpretentious songs, a naturally warm stage presence and rapport with accompanist Christopher Bilton (mandolin, cajon, banjo, glockenspiel), Holly has truly earned her reputation as one of the North’s brightest acoustic gems.
Over the last few years, Holly has gigged constantly and supported the likes of The Wedding Present, Martha Tilston, Boo Hewerdine and Otis Gibbs. She has also earned recognition from the BBC New Talent initiative for her songwriting prowess, and performed extensively in the UK including hugely successful appearances at Stainsby Festival, Burton Agnes Jazz & Blues Festival, Beverley Folk Festival and the Deer Shed Festival.
A formidable acoustic duo, Holly and Christopher are touring throughout 2011, bringing you their unique brand of shimmering, laid-back nu-folk to promote their new release, ‘Move A Little Closer EP’.
