Ifdakar jam their way through a unique blend of rock, blues, funk, jazz, and electronic music.
Ifdakar have been fortunate enough to play with such luminaries as Ozric Tentacles, Billy Kreutzmann, Melvin Seals of JGB, Robbie Krieger, Dumpstaphunk, EOTO, Kellar Williams, Xavier Rudd, Wookiefoot, Kim Manning of the P. Funk All-Stars, Willie Waldman, Steve Kimock, Steve Molitz of Particle, the Heavy Pets, and this summer will be adding Bob Weir and Primus to the ever growing list.
As Ifdakar continues to climb the ranks of the Midwest scene, their popularity has started to snowball. Reaching capacity at marquee club shows regularly, the band has begun to make the jump to theaters, picking up hundreds of new fans along the way.
Festival promoters have taken notice, too, as Ifdakar has performed at many nationally recognized festivals, such as headlining the Grateful Garcia Gathering (3 years), Shangri~La (Wookiefoot's Harvestfest), Project Earth (Wookiefoot Charity Fest), Bella Music Fest (3 years), Milwaukee's Summerfest (3 years), Madison Harvest Fest (4 years), Prairie Grass Music Festival (2 years), Pow Wow in the Pines (2 years), Feel Good Festival, Jakefest, Steel Bridge Songfest, and many others. Not only do they play at festivals but also have organized a stage at Project Earth and are in their second year of producing their own festival IfdaKamp.
Ifdakar has found the right formula; band members who refuse to give up, cutting edge original material that begs to be played live, and devoted, dance thirsty fans who are convinced that this band has what it takes. Ifdakar is ready for anything and looks poised to take things to the next level. Their reputation continues to grow positively after each performance. From the intimate audience connections that stir, to the dark and spacey jams that take hold, Ifdakar is about musical dialogue between each other, and their growing audience.
Ifdakar's debut album, 'On the Edge' was recorded and engineered at Rock Garden Studio, Appleton, WI, in the winter of 2009-2010. The album was produced and released through the bands own self-sustained production company, Ifda Inc.
Tracks can be heard playing on jamband friendly radio shows across the country as the album's popularity steadily rises. You can purchase the album directly from the band's online store at ifdakar.com. Both digital download and cd format are available.
