　体に染み込んだグルーブ感で自在に鍵盤を操るキーボード奏者・イマニ。福岡市を拠点に演奏者、プロデューサー、アレンジャーとして幅広く音楽にかかわる。

米国ミシガン州のデトロイトに生まれ、４歳でピアノを弾き始めた。トロンボーン、ビオラのほか、合唱団メンバーとして声楽を学び、東ミシガン大学で楽典を学んだ。１９９０年代に来日し、ゴスペルの講師・伴奏者として１００人以上を指導。豊富なステージ経験が評価され、小室哲哉のプロジェクトなどにも参加している。

　ソリストの演奏に敏感に反応し、もり立てていく伴奏のセンスは、積み重ねてきたトレーニングと経験のたまものだろう。人間味ある人柄も信頼されている。１０月には、日本での活動を集大成したアルバム「ＦＲＯＭ　ＴＨＩＳ　ＭＯＭＥＮＴ　ＯＮ！」を発表予定だ。　（平原）

The keyboardist controls his instrument freely with deeply ingrained groove, IMANI.
He’s involved with music widely as a player, producer and arranger based in Fukuoka.

He was born in Detroit, MI, U􏰀A and started to play the piano when he was 4. Other
than trombone and viola, he learned vocal as a choir member and music theory at
Eastern Michigan University. He came to Japan in the 1990’s to train more than 100
people as a gospel instructor/backing player. With acclaimed his considerable stage
performances, he participated in projects such as Tetsuya Komuro’s.

His sensitivity to soloists’ play and talented backing which supports them must come
from as a result of accumulated training and experiences. His humane personality is
also trusted (by people). His album entitled 􏰁F􏰂OM THI􏰀 MOMENT ON!􏰃, the
culmination of his activities in Japan, will be released in October.
