Biography

Jackson Wells is a singer/songwriter born in New York City, raised in Los Angeles, recently relocated to Nashville, TN. He has performed on stages throughout Los Angeles, including House of Blues and Universal Studios City Walk. Since moving to Nashville, he has performed two well-received acoustic sets at the Bluebird Cafe. He also continues to play regularly at Hotel Indigo and Mad Donna's in Nashville, and at Puckett’s in Leipers Fork.
His influences are diverse, including such artists as Keith Urban, John Mayer, Casting Crowns, Maroon 5, the Script, and Taylor Swift. The songs are generally pop but many have country overtones as well. They each tell a story drawn from personal experiences that relate to themes everyone else can relate to too.
Jackson traveled twice to China this summer, where his tour included performances at several outdoor shows at the Chengdu International Music Festival, drawing thousands of loyal fans. He played several club venues as well, including Amitha and Jinshang Club, meeting with directors from tour sponsor AMC Entertainment regarding upcoming tours. In other Chinese-related news he performed Lovesick (in Chinese and English) at the Greater Nashville Chinese Association’s Chinese New Year Celebration. Jackson is in his 5th year of Chinese—he is a Belmont songwriting major with a Chinese minor.
One of Jackson’s favorite events this year was performing at the fundraiser for the American Liver Foundation at Joe Natural’s farm in Leipers Fork, to raise funds for research in honor of one of the children there. In another highly rewarding charity event, Jackson was honored to perform at the preshow for headliner Jeffery Steele to raise money for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a type of MS that affects young boys.
Two new music videos were filmed locally this fall, with director Kurt Nishimura and team coming out from LA. The first, Fairytale Ending, will debut when the CD is released in January. Kurt directed Jackson’s music video Lovesick, which received over 700,000 views from fans all over the globe.
Jackson has been named winner of SingerUniverse.com's Vocalist of the Month twice, and was recently invited to appear in a BB King's showcase in Nashville. As a finalist in the Belfast/Nashville Songwriters Festival he was honored to perform in Belfast. He was awarded runner-up in the We Are Listening Singer/Songwriter Awards, and has been a finalist in both the Show Me the Music and International Songwriting Competitions.
He recently released his second album on iTunes and Amazon, and is preparing a third release, Picture of Life, for January 2014. Please visit his website at www.jacksonwells.net.

No Offense

No Offense
By Jackson Wells

No offense I’m walkin’ out
Packed my bags I’m leaving town
Take the rest, what comes and goes
No offense I’m leavin’ you
I’ve had it with your lies and truths
And honestly, you and me are through,
No offense there’s someone new

It started out happy as can be
Had the time of my life
Did some crazy tings
Out after moonlight
One thing led to another, and another
Things started to go cold
And the attitude broke down, and
The conversation burned out
And I guess it’s taken its toll

No offense I’m walkin’ out
Packed my bags I’m leavin’ town
Take the rest, what comes and goes,
No offense I’m leavin’ you
I’ve had it with your lies and truth
And honestly, you and me are through,
No offense there’s someone new

Though I made mistakes
Though I didn’t do some things
That you wanted me to do all the time
But how many times do I have to say “sorry”
Before I get it into your mind?

No offense I’m walkin’ out
Packed my bags I’m leavin’ town
Take the rest, what comes and goes
No offense I’m leavin’ you
I’ve had it with your lies and truth
And honestly, you and me are through,
No offense there’s someone new

You can cry all you want
If your tears were only rain
You can cry all you want
But I’ll still just sail away
You can cry all you want
But I’m not gonna change
You can cry, you can cry, you can cry

No offense I’m walkin’ out
Packed my bags I’m leavin’ town
Take the rest, what comes and goes
No offense I’m leaving you
I’ve had it with your lies and truth
And honestly, you and me are through,
No offense there’s someone new

Empty Words

Empty Words

Jackson Wells, Beeb Birtles & Bill Cuomo

What makes you think that you can
Kiss me sweetly, fool me discreetly
You should have told me when I met you
About him, you can’t live without him

Empty words are what remain
Call it love it’s just a game to you
But when it all comes crashing down
And there’s no one else around but you
Heart in two

I’m not the kind of guy who’ll
Leave you crying from cheating and lying
Give me a reason to be falling
When I know he’s calling and you’ll go

Empty words are what remain
Call it love it’s just a game to you
But when it all comes crashing down
And there’s no one else around but you
Heart in two

When you’re through and all alone
How much heartache can you take
I just wish that you would see
You could be mine and spend all your time with me

Empty words are what remain
Call it love it’s just a game to you
But when it all comes crashing down
And there’s no one else around but you
Heart in two

Don’t give me empty words that
Keep me staying
You’re just playing
Cheatin’ and lyin’
Will leave you cryin’

I Want You, I Need You

I Want You, I Need You

Jackson Wells, Beeb Birtles & Bill Cuomo

One day I went out walking saw a friend and started talking
About nothing in particular per se
We were laughing and a-joking when this girl, I tell you, smokin’
Turned the corner, started strolling our way

And I thought, ooh I want you
Ooh I need you

I couldn’t stop from staring at the red dress she was wearing
And the way that she was swinging her hips
Can you imagine my surprise at what she said when she passed by
And I could hear these words that fell from her lips

And she said ooh I want you
Ooh I need you

Hey pretty baby won’t you slow down, come back to me
I’d really like to see you tonight
Please don’t say maybe to a good thing my loving can be
‘Cause you know I’m gonna treat you right

And I said ooh I want you
Ooh I need you

I think this could be trouble, a heavy price to pay
But man this girl is something, don’t wanna let her slip away

But are we moving way too fast, maybe take it slow?
Infatuation never lasts long but how are we to know?
I hear my heart keep telling me yes, don’t hesitate this time
And I’m not one for second guessing, gonna make her mine

One day we went out walking, saw my friend and started talking
About nothing in particular per se
We were laughing and a-joking when this girl, I tell you, smoking
Turned the corner, started struttin’ his way

And he said, ooh baby I want you
Ooh baby I need you

Hey pretty baby won’t you slow down, come back to me
I’d really like to see you tonight
Please don’t say maybe to a sure thing good loving can be
‘Cause you know I’m gonna treat you right

And he said, ooh baby I want you
She said, ooh yeah baby I need you

You know this could be trouble, a heavy price to pay
But man this girl is something, can’t ever let her slip away

The moral of this story, don’t be afraid to fall
It’s better to have loved than to never loved at all

Ooh yeah
Yeah yeah
Oh no no no no
Yeah

Calling After Midnight

Calling After Midnight

Jackson Wells, Beeb Birtles & Bill Cuomo

I should have known better, when I let her
Walk right into my world
I must have been crazy for loving that girl
But who can blame me, the way she played me
Smooth as whiskey on ice
I never saw it coming when she confessed
Her double life

She feels she’s done no wrong
And she’ll be here just as long as I want her around

She’s so deceiving, got me believing
That he for sure will be gone
Maybe she’s pretending and how will I know?
After all that she’s done

And I can’t find a solution
This girl is wrapped in confusion, can’t make up her mind

Oh oh she’s calling after midnight
Boom boom banging on my door
Boy you better run, she’ll keep you hanging on
Always coming back for more

I’m tired of trying and all her crying
It won’t change a thing for me
She’s making accusations and telling her lies
Does she think I can’t see?

And I don’t see a solution
This girl is wrapped in confusion, can’t make up her mind

Oh oh she’s calling after midnight
Boom boom banging on my door
Boy you better run, she’ll keep you hanging on
Always coming back for more

Oh oh she’s calling after midnight
Boom boom banging on my door
Boy you better run, she’ll keep you hanging on
Always coming back for more, for more

Oh oh calling after midnight ooh
Calling after midnight
She’s banging on my door oor oor
Wanting some more ore ore
Calling after midnight
Calling after midnight
Yeah yeah yeah
Calling after midnight

Never Gone

Written By: Jackson Wells

Never Gone

Jackson Wells

She’s got a smile that lights up the sky
Blue from grey
She’s got an edgy sense of humor
And I like it that way
But Dad always warned me
About the one that got away
I should have taken his advice
Because now this is all I can say

When you’re gone it still feels like you’re here
For so long we were one and the same
Is it wrong that I can’t live without you?
All the while you’re the one who remains
Never gone

It’s been raining for quite a while now
Been like this for days
I haven’t seen much sunshine around
But I don’t care anyway
And maybe I’m dreaming
You’ll come back to ease the pain
Why did I let you walk away?
‘Cause right now I’m going insane

When you’re gone it still feels like you’re here
For so long we were one and the same
Is it wrong that I can’t live without you?
All the while you’re the one who remains
Never gone

I still feel you, I still hear you and I still see you in my dreams
I still taste you and I still love you more than anything

When you’re gone it still feels like you’re here
For so long we were one and the same
Is it wrong that I can’t live without you?
All the while you’re the one who remains
Never gone
Oh you’re never gone

You never, you never, you never ever ever
You never, never gone

Wings of an Angel

Wings Of An Angel

Jackson Wells, Beeb Birtles and Bill Cuomo

Can you see her now? She’s been looking down
Am I lost deep inside a dream?
See her standing there with her golden hair
And I wonder what this really means
Is it true? Is it true?

Wings of an angel
Now it’s time that you take flight
On the wings of an angel
But I can’t let you go tonight
No, no, no, no, not tonight, not all right, tonight

It’s not her time to go even though I know
Every mountain could crumble and fall
Is there any way you will let her stay?
I’m just trying to make sense of it all
Is it true? Is it true?

Wings of an angel
Now it’s time that you take flight
On the wings of an angel
But I can’t let you go tonight
No, no, no, no, not tonight, not all right, tonight

But it’s time for me to ease the pain, time to set you free
I don’t like it and I’ll fight it, ‘til I’m on my knees
Won’t you tell me please she’ll be all right?

I can see her now she is looking down
And I know it’s no longer a dream
See her standing there with her golden hair
And she’s telling me what this all means

Wings of an angel
Now it’s time that you take flight
With the wings of an angel
I will let you go tonight
Na, na, na, na, it’s tonight, it’s all right, tonight
Na, na, na, na, it’s tonight, it’s all right, tonight

Just Thought You Should Know

Jackson Wells

Say goodbye to the love that we have
Broken promises, that’s just how it is, driving me mad
Stop the lies and start the goodbyes ‘cause I’m leaving you
Now I know how it feels to have my heart in two

Well hey now, walking out and leaving you oh
Got a one way ticket to Mexico
Gonna dance all night with my sunshine
What’s left to say you gotta long, long way to go
I just thought you should know
I just thought you should know

I remember when you asked me to write a song for you
Here it is but we didn’t turn out like I wanted to
‘Cause I know you don’t go to what you regret
But I guess if I miss you it’s all in my head

Well hey now, walking out and leaving you oh
Got a one way ticket to Mexico
Gonna dance all night with my sunshine
What’s left to say you gotta long, long way to go
I just thought you should know
I just thought you should know

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

Well hey now, walking out and leaving you oh
Got a one way ticket to Mexico
Gonna dance all night with my sunshine

Well hey now, walking out and leaving you oh
Got a one way ticket to Mexico
Gonna dance all night with my sunshine
What’s left to say you gotta long, long way to go
I just thought you should know
I just thought you should know

No no, I just thought you should know
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Just thought, just thought you should know
