"Bold musicians April 9th 2014"

"Cross draft of musical inspiration"
"Unbelievably tight"
"Mostly I remember yet the interaction and the powerful vocals"
"Blazing playing from fiddle and tin whistle" - Södermanlands nyheter

""Jaerv convinced us at Hilmarfestivalen""

"Jaerv convinced us at Hilmarfestivalen and delivered a great concert with great ensemble playing. We particularly enjoyed the singing combined with storytelling. The breaks in between the tunes testify about good timing and musicality."

- Johan Einar Bjerkem - Producer Hilmarfestivalen

""Much of the success was due to Jaervs brilliant musicianship""

"Last summer, Norrbotten Chamber Orchestra worked with Jaerv and folk vocalist Sofia Karlsson. The concert was a great success and touched many in our audience very deeply.

Much of the success was due to Jaervs brilliant musicianship, quick adaptability and fine feeling for the music." - Håkan Ekman - Producer Norbotten Chamber Orchestra

""There are five amazing musicians""

"The same glorious vitality and the feeling that the audience is constantly being surprised-there are five amazing musicians who handle the instruments in a completely brilliant way-in all kinds of music - from polkas to free improvisations, with both simple and more-intricate rhythms. The joy of playing/skill completely knocks me out, and the audience!!"
- Iréne Sjöberg-Lundin Music/cultural responsibility in Stensjöns Township and artistic and administr

""The success is heard in the very first applause""

"The success is heard in the very first applause" (...) "Together with Norbotten chamber orchestra and folk group Jaerv from Gothenburg, Sofia Karlsson gave pure luxurious models of her repertoire (...)" as the Vikings' old hit "Lilies" along with beautifully singing gentlemen in Jaerv ". - Piteå-Tidningen 18/6 2012

"Somrigt lyxigt visprogram i lysande festspel"

"Succén hörs redan i första applåden" (...)

"Music that lifts the feet"

“When Jaerv start to play you just want to start dancing and to be a part of the magic/magical story -
- a journey with the taste of other cultures and music strongly/firmly rooted in the Swedish folk music tradition.
- a journey influenced by other cultures and music that lifts the feet and sets the spirit/soul free.”
- Clement McKay – Folkmusikkaféet, Göteborg

"Complex and traditional"

The Swedish folk group Jaerv takes the elements of traditional Scandinavian music and reflects them through a modern prism, with an all-acoustic sound that nonetheless takes a bevy of tricky turns in rhythm and harmony that makes the pleasant rural melodies ring with a contemporary complexity. - Rick Massimo, Journal Pop Music Writer April 10 2010

"New Swedish Folk at its Best!"

Folk music is music of growth and change. This CD takes traditional Swedish music to a new level. On par with groups like Väsen and Triakel. Relaxing on one level, challenging your ear on another. Highly recommended!

- Kjell Erik Anderson, CD Baby

"Music that makes you happy..."

By Hasse Petersson
"This is folk music at its best. A homogeneous and closely knit group."
- Swedish Radio P4

"Review of Djarv's songs (in swedish)"

GP 4 mars 2007

- Goteborgs-Posten 4/3 - 07

Bio

Jaerv is a Swedish quintet, playing an extroverted, vigorous and heartfelt folk music with influences from both jazz and pop music.Together, the five members have created a homogeneous, vivid sound which has established Jaerv on the folk music scene as well as in many other forums. Rooted in several different musical traditions, Jaerv offers a varied stage performance where vocal, five-voiced tunes blend in with energetic dances and free improvisations. Jaerv has done several tours in the U.S., played live at BBC Scotland and performed three times at the biggest folk festival in northern Europe, Celtic Connections in Glasgow. In February 2009 they released their first studio album, Inrikes, and now, in 2014, they will release their second album, Vol 2.
