Lyrics

Wake Up

Written By: James Israel

1.
It's a crisis situation, that we're in for the duration
Got to end the domination, of greed over creation
You know the homeless on the street, need something to eat
And it won't be complete, 'til you get up off your seat

CHORUS:
Wake up, from the American Dream
Wake up, if you really, really want to be free
Wake up, from the All-American Dream
Wake up, things are not always what they seem... no, no, no

2.
And if you got something to say, let us hear it today
'cause you know we're gonna stay, 'til we do it our way
'cause there just ain't no excuse, to keep accepting abuse
At the hands of those that use, no we got to shake it loose...

(CHORUS)

(INSTRUMENTAL)

BRIDGE:
Callin' all people / a new day is dawnin'
Callin' all people / can't you hear the distant drummin'...
It's comin'... it's comin'... it's comin'... it's comin'

3.
Now you been dreaming 'bout moving up, about drinking from the golden cup
But they got you hypnotized, by their dirty little white lies
And you won't wanna be around, when you hear that crashin' sound
On the free fall back down, to the earth you finally found...

(CHORUS)

4.
And when I see the sun shine, you know it makes me feel so fine
and I dream of a time, when all the tension unwinds
Ya know we've got a lot to do, but don't let it make ya blue
'cause we are here with you, just waiting for the cue... to...

Aliens on Ice

Written By: James Israel

1.
Way down in the Nevada desert, out in an area they call 51
They do some interesting research and they don't hang there for fun
Ever since an incident called Roswell, they do more than experiment on mice
They're flying some spaced out toys and they got aliens on ice

CHORUS:
Aliens on ice... it's really kinda spooky
Aliens on ice... they say that we’ve gone kooky
Aliens on ice... they've come such a long way
Maybe they just wanted to play

2.
It was back in the spring of '47, near a sleepy town called Roswell
People saw it coming out of the heavens, from another world it fell
The army first called it a flying saucer, then they said it was much too soon
They hauled it back to the base and decided it was just a weather balloon

(CHORUS)

3.
Yeah, way down in the Nevada desert, out in an area they call 51
They got a little science project, they like to keep out of the sun
Little grey men with huge heads, bulbous eyes and little chins
They may have been here before, back when pyramids were in

(CHORUS)

END:
Maybe they just wanted to play (repeat - background vocals)
Did anybody ask 'em? / I'd like to see their toys
Maybe play doctor / A night out with the boys

Sweet Dark Princess

Written By: James Israel

Sweet dark princess, of the night
I could lose myself, in your eyes
And when you speak, I get hypnotized
I could never say goodbye, no
ain't telling you no lie

I get this feeling, when I look at you
Like all my dreams could come true
I feel so secure in your arms
I don't know what I would do, no
If I were ever to lose you

(BRIDGE:)
Like the plains of Nairobi, your beauty's everlasting
Like the forests of Mozambique, your strength lies within

Come walk along the river, by my side
My love for you is like the rising tide
You know I'll always be on your side
In the deepest darkest night
I know in you I can confide

(INSTRUMENTAL)

(BRIDGE:)
Like the plains of Nairobi, your beauty's everlasting
Like the forests of Mozambique, your strength lies within

Sweet dark princess, of the night
I could lose myself, in your eyes
And when you speak, I get hypnotized
I could never say goodbye, no
ain't telling you no lie

Freedom Calling

Written By: James Israel

I left my home when I was just a boy / at the tender age of ten
Got taken in by strangers / who grew closer than my kin
Got an education out on the streets / got taken for a fool
Grew stronger by the day and I learned more / than I ever did in school

CHORUS:
Freedom ... oh mystery / Freedom is calling me

Hitching coast to coast, living more than most / living fast, but it took a toll
I prayed to God and lived with the devil / but I never sold my soul
Had many a woman tell me lies / had a few that were good to me
But the one that I remember best / has gotten away scot-free

You got your cement and steel high-rise / scraping up against the sky
You got big money drugs pumping in our veins / to hold us until we die
Your capital gains cause acid rain / it’s etching out your legacy
You give power to the rich and sell us out / and call it democracy

Good Enough

Written By: James Israel

CHORUS:
Just relax and be yourself, you’re good enough... you’re good
Just relax and be yourself, you’re good enough... you’re good

1.
You can try so hard, sometimes you miss the point
You might never even know, you could rock the joint
But I’ll give you a little hint... rules are made to be bent

(CHORUS)

2.
All you need is new shoes, and sunglasses to match
You’re looking so cool, and you always stay detached
You been with it all along... ‘cause baby, you’re the bomb

(CHORUS)

3.
I know you seen it all before, you been there, you done that
And if you spot a new trend, you’re there quick as a cat
It’s all in how you move... I’m watching everything you do

(CHORUS)

Life Is Funny

Written By: James Israel

1.
Sometimes you can work for years, to make a dream come true
But no matter how hard you try, it just don’t happen for you
While someone who don’t even care, to even venture out the door
By sheer luck of the cosmic lottery, gets just what you had hoped for
Just what you had hoped for

(CHORUS:)
Life is funny that way
Life is funny

2.
When I first met you long ago, I knew you were the one for me
Our lives melded into one, and our future was plain to see
But one day you packed your bags, for no apparent reason
You said you were moving on, just like the changing seasons
Just like the changing seasons

(CHORUS)

BRIDGE:
The ocean tides they come and they go
though the rhythm remains the same
Kingdoms rise and they will fall
as generations march on thru time

3.
Then today you call out of the blue, from down in the south of France,
Things didn’t work out, it was just, a tumultuous romance
Now you wanna patch things up, you say your wild days are through
Funny thing, as fate would have it, now I found someone new
Yeah, I found someone new

Don't Wanna Know

Written By: James Israel

I’m perfect for you, babe, you’re perfect for me
If it’s meant to be now, it’ll happen naturally
So let me into your world, I’ll let you into mine
And if you fall for me, babe, that’ll be just fine

CHORUS:
But I don’t wanna know... I don’t wanna know...
What’s to come tomorrow

When I see you on the floor, babe, and watch the way you move
It makes me wanna holler, now, ’cause I’m coming unglued
With your eyes shining bright, and your hair flowing free
Really makes me wonder, babe, if you would ever be with me

(CHORUS)

Who knows where we’ll be in just a year or two
The whole scene keeps changing, as if right on cue
Could be a happy ending, could be a tragedy
Could be that all our problems just vanish magically

Fast Train

Written By: James Israel

1.
It's like a fast train bearing / down on a rainy night
It's the way you nail me / with that look in your eye
It's like meeting your demons / when you least expect
They're rumblin' 'neath the surface / though you can't detect
And maybe I should be kneelin' / down to pray
But listen here mama / I got somethin' to say

2.
You been lookin' at me / like you see clear through
You been sizin' me up / you think you know the truth
You say your slice of heaven / beats my hell
You say I got it coming / but only time will tell
I say you'll rue the day / this bird flew
but nothin' I say / seem to get through to you

3.
Well, I got me a woman / she don't know my name
She keep callin' me buddy / and playin' her game
She know how to hold me / in her spell
She pulled me up by the bootstraps / and watched as I fell
But tell me, mama / how could it be?
You got such pretty eyes / but you still don't see

REPEAT 1ST VERSE

Next Time You See Me

Written By: James Israel

1.
The world is coming in from all sides today
The news that's on the tube just gets me down
There's got to be something here worth salvaging
Among the wreckage left lying around

CHORUS:
The time is just drifting away
Down through the streets of this town
Don't you forget to nod your head (say hello / wave goodbye)
Next time you see me around
Next time you see me around

2.
I met my neighbor for the first time today
After living next door to him for years
He had a lot of interesting things to say
It was good to find a friend living so near
He said...

(CHORUS)

3.
The trees are bowing to the wind and rain today
They say that there's a Tule fog moving in
I can't erase the past but I can look ahead
For surely the warm sun will shine again

(CHORUS)

Just a Little (Can Do a Lot)

Written By: James Israel

1.
You could be inside, you could be out
You can be lonely, in a crowd
You can get so close, yet be so far
You can live your dreams, or hitch 'em to a star

CHORUS:
But no matter where it is you go that's new, just remember
I'll be there with you
And no matter what it is you choose to do, just remember
A little love will get you through

2.
You might be insane, or just too normal
You can go nude, or dress up formal
You might get excited, or just fall asleep
You could be shallow, or so very deep

(CHORUS)

3.
You can have security, or you can be free
You can close your eyes, and begin to see
You might be famous, always on the go
And yet be someone, no one really knows

(CHORUS)

4.
You can be full-grown, yet act like a child
You could be civilized, and yet yearn for the wild
You can feel left out, or stuck in the middle
You can do a whole lot, with just a little

(CHORUS)

Kin of Ata

Written By: James Israel

1.
A world of harmony, is just a dream
They say noone even knows what it means
A fool’s paradise, stick with reality
but tell me, whose version of that is it to be?

CHORUS:
The Kin of Ata are waiting for you (4x)
Tell me what are you gonna do?

2.
Everyone cared for, everyone loved
Our future bright as the stars up above
Those in need, receive, and the land
Is shared by all, living in peace, and...

(CHORUS)

3.
The end of suffering, the end of greed
The dawning of an era, planting of the seed
Working together, with freedom for all
It’s time you listened and answered the call
