"MySpace Music Featured Artist"

MySpace, the world’s leading social portal, is excited to announce the debut of “Count on Me,” the theme song for the site’s first online game show, “BFF.” The MySpace original program that tests how well best friend know each other was launched on April 2nd and has immediately attracted a huge following and online buzz. Jess brings her edgy, eclectic mix of pop-acoustic guitar songs and jazzy-soulful piano ballads to the groundbreaking web series.

Jess Furman is a NYC/LA-based musician who has been writing songs on the guitar and piano since kindergarten. In late 2008, she released her newest record, “Standing On Your Last Line.” Along with “Count on Me” for “BFF,” Jess will be releasing two new tracks shortly. Be sure to check out her MySpace profile page at http://www.myspace.com/jessfurman.

“I had such a blast writing this song and working on this project. ‘Count On Me’ enabled me to express how important all my friendships are. I hope it will also remind others of the wonderful people in their lives,” said Furman.

Because music is such an integral part of friendship, “BFF” has also dedicated part of the show to music in a round of questioning called “Music Matters.” Producing the show is acclaimed film executive Meryl Poster, former Co-President of Production at Miramax Films, and former fashion executive David Rubin with City Lights Media.

Bio

If Aimee Man had a three-way with Lily Allen and Adele, you would have Indie-Pop-Acoustic singer, guitarist and piano jammer, Jess Furman.

With music featured at Sundance Film Festival, Tribecca Film Festival, SXSW and on networks such as Bravo, Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva, MTV, Comedy Central and Sesame Street...Jess Furman has a dynamic stage performance that vocally grabs you and pulls you in with sweet hooks and smart lyrics.

Jess Furman has been gigging since 14 years old - winning a battle of the bands at college on only an acoustic guitar with her signature style of fast-paced lyrics delivered with a tinge of jazzy overtones, accompanied by percussive guitar riffs and an energetic act that had the crowd requesting encore after encore. The event organizer was so taken with her act that he volunteered to manage her pro bono.

Currently, Jess (who is bi-coastal) can be found gigging nationally, and is a regular at such famous LA/NY clubs as The Hotel Cafe, Room5, Ghenghis Cohen, The Witzend, Harvelles (LA) and The Bitter End, The Cutting Room, Kennys Castaways, Rockwood Music Hall, Arlenes Grocery (NYC) and many more.

Her most current Take Me Back EP (2012): (www.jessfurman.bandcamp.com) features the tracks "Get Back up" which is the current TV Series Theme for Lifetime's "Life's a Trip."
