Lyrics

Here Comes the Rain Again

Written By: Joe Bristol

HERE COMES THE RAIN AGAIN

WALKING THROUGH THIS EMPTY FIELD
NOT A CLOUD IN SIGHT
I FEEL THIS RAIN FALL AGAINST MY SKIN
EACH AND EVERY NIGHT
HOW CAN THERE BE SO MANY RAINDROPS
WHEN THE SKY IS CLEAR AS DAY?
CAUSE EVERY TIME I THINK OF YOU
IN MY EYES YOU CAN SEE THE RAIN

CHORUS:
HERE COMES THE RAIN AGAIN FILLING UP MY MIND
HERE COMES THE RAIN AGAIN ONE MEMORY AT A TIME
HERE COMES THE RAIN AGAIN HELPING ME BELIEVE
AFTER ALL THIS TIME TOGETHER YOU AND I WEREN'T MEANT TO BE
(YOU AND I CAN CLEARLY SEE)

I'VE FINALLY COME TO REALIZE
THAT YOU AND I ARE THROUGH
I'VE BEEN TRYING TO FORGET THE PAST
BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT I SHOULD DO
I'LL REMEMBER ALL THE GOOD TIMES
LEARN MY LESSONS FROM THE REST
IF MISTAKES ARE BLESSINGS IN DISGUISE
THEN I AM TRULY BLESSED
CHORUS:

IF THINGS DON'T SEEM TO WORK OUT
IT'S PROBABLY FOR THE BEST
DON'T WASTE TIME ASKING WHY
LEAVE THE WORRYING TO THE REST
WITHOUT THIS PAIN AND SORROW
YOU COULDN'T UNDERSTAND
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WHAT YOU WANTED
AND WHAT IS IN YAH'S PLAN
CHORUS:

I Want To Get Lost

Written By: Joe Bristol

I WANT TO GET LOST

VERSE 1
THERE’S A FULL MOON OUT TONIGHT
SHINING THROUGH THE SKY
ILLUMINATING OFF HER PORCELAIN SKIN
SHADOWS OF OUR BODIES
ARE CAST BY THE FLAME
FROM THE PASSION THAT’S BURNING FROM WITHIN
A MOMENT NEVER FELT SO RIGHT
JUST BEING THERE TOGETHER
LYING THERE IN EACHOTHERS ARMS
NATURE ALL AROUND US
SURROUNDED BY THE NIGHT
FEELING IMPRINTS OF OUR BODIES IN OUR YARD

CHORUS:
I WANT TO GET LOST IN THAT MOMENT
I WANT TO GET LOST IN THAT NIGHT
I WANT TO FEEL THAT HEAT EVERYTIME THAT WE MEET
I WANT TO GET LOST IN YOUR EYES
I WANT TO GET LOST EVERYNIGHT

VERSE 2
NOW THAT WERE OLD AND GREY
AND TIME HAS SLIPPED AWAY
WITH PICTURES OF OUR FAMILY ON OUR WALLS
I’M LUCKY TO SHARED A LIFE
WITH YOU AS MY WIFE
WITH ALL THOSE HAPPY MEMORIES TO RECALL
WE MIGHT SEEM OLD FASHION
BY THE LITTLE THINGS WE DO
I JUST LAUGH AND THINK IF THEY ONLY KNEW
ALL THE THINGS WE’VE DONE
SOME WERE CRAZY AND MOST WERE FUN
WHICH TAKES ME BACK TO THAT MIDNIGHT RENDEZVOUS
CHORUS:

Country Rock & Roll

Written By: Joe Bristol

COUNTRY ROCK & ROLL

VERSE 1
WE’VE HEARD ALL KINDS OF MUSIC THAT’S MADE THROUGHOUT THE LAND.
AS WE’VE TRAVELED AROUND THIS WORLD JUST ME AND MY BAND.
OUT OF ALL THE TUNES TO CHOOSE FROM ONLY ONE MAKES ME LOSE CONTROL
MAYBE YA’LL HAVE HEARD IT’S CALLED COUNTRY ROCK AND ROLL.

CHORUS:
CAN YOU FEEL THAT? CAN YOU FEEL THAT? ( FIVE TIMES )
… COUNTRY ROCK ROLL

VERSE 2:
WE HAVE STEVIE RAY, G&R AND ELVIS PLAYING IN OUR CAR
THE VOLUME TURNED UP ALL THE WAY.
AC/DC AND THE DOORS OUR PEDAL PUSHED DOWN TO THE FLOOR
TEARING UP THE HIGHWAY.
WE’VE GOT SOUTHERN ROCK, CLASSIC ROCK, HARD ROCK, KID ROCK
A PUMPING THROUGH OUR VEINS
WITH THE WINDOWS ROLLED DOWN YOU CAN HERE THAT COUNTRY SOUND
AS THAT FIDDLE PLAYER STARTS TO PLAY.

SOLO:

CHORUS:

VERSE 3
WE’VE GOT GARTH, HANK, CHRIS LEDOUX TO LISTEN IF YA WANT TO
HEADING TO THE DRINK & FIGHT
DAVID ALLEN COE SINGING ON THE RADIO
BLASTING THROUGH THE SPEAKERS EVERYNIGHT.
THE HARMONICA IS RINGING AND EVERYBODYS SINGING
PEOPLE JUMPING OUT OF THEIR SEATS.
EVEN IF THE SKY GETS CLOUDY THE CROWD WILL STILL GET ROWDY
DANCING TO THAT ROCK & ROLL BEAT
CHORUS:

BRIDGE:
IF YOU CAN FEEL IT IN YOUR SOUL AND YOU'RE ABOUT TO LOSE CONTROL
COME ON SCREAM…
COUNTRY ROCK & ROLL

On A Night Like This

Written By: Joe Bristol

On a night like this – Copyright 2007 Joe Bristol
VERSE 1
I NEVER MINDED THE RAIN, OR THE WIND BLOWING ALL AROUND.
FEELING THAT THUNDER IN THE SKY, AS THE LIGHTNING CRASHES DOWN.
MY MIND’S ON FIRE WITH JUST ONE SINGLE KISS.
MY HEART SURRENDERS ON A NIGHT LIKE THIS.
CHORUS:
I CAN FEEL THE MAGIC IN THE AIR, AS OUR BODIES LOSE CONTROL. I RUN MY FINGERS THROUGH YOUR HAIR, THERE IS NO DOUBT YOU’RE IN MY SOUL.
THE PASSIONS BURNING, SHOOTING THROUGH OUR FINGER TIPS.
SWEET MEMORIES ARE MADE ON A NIGHT LIKE THIS.
VERSE 2
MY HEART IS AN ISLAND SURROUNDED BY THE SEA.
THERE I WAS ALL ALONE, TILL YOU CAME TO RESCUE ME
YOUR ARMS JUST HELD ME, THESE FEELINGS ARE HARD TO MISS.
IT’S EASY TO FALLIN LOVE, ON A NIGHT LIKE THIS.
CHORUS: 1 AGAIN
BRIDGE:
FEEL OUR BODIES PRESSED TOGETHER. THE SMELL OF PERFUME IN THE WIND.
HOPING IT LASTS FOREVER. MIXED WITH THE RAIN DROPS ON OUR SKIN.
AND WHEN WE CLOSE OUR EYES, I’M STILL LONGING FOR YOUR KISS.
IT’S EASY TO FALL IN LOVE, ON A NIGHT LIKE THIS.
CHORUS 2
ON A NIGHT LIKE THIS ALL THE PLANETS ARE ALIGNED.
WE’RE LYING THERE TOGETHER WITH THE STARS UP IN THE SKY.
YOU JUST CONVINCE ME HOW IMPORTANT OUR LOVE IS.
EACH TIME YOU HOLD ME ON A NIGHT LIKE THIS.

The Sacrifice

Written By: Joe Bristol

THE SACRIFICE

VERSE 1
ALL THESE YEARS OF WORKING ON THAT ASSEMBLY LINE.
CHASING THAT MIGHTY DOLLAR EARNING THAT OVERTIME.
I’VE MISSED ALL THOSE PRECIOUS MOMENTS JUST TO KEEP MY FAMILY FED.
I GET HOME LATE AT NIGHT AND THEY’RE ALL ASLEEP IN BED.

CHORUS 1:
WHAT KIND OF LIFE AM I LIVING? WHAT AM I WORKING FOR?
WHEN I DON’T SEE MY WIFE OR CHILDREN ANYMORE.
HAVE THEY FORGOTTEN WHO THEIR FATHER IS? WILL I PAY A PRICE?
TELL ME WAS IT WORTH THE MY SACRIFICE?

VERSE 2
AS I’M SITTING WATCHING THE NEWS THEY SAID WE LOST ANOTHER MAN.
ALL IN THE NAME OF FREEDOM IN SOMEONE ELSES LAND.
THEY TELL ME IT’S A NOBLE CAUSE. STILL IT SCARES ME DEEP INSIDE.
WHEN I THINK OF ALLTHE DADDY’S WHOSE FAUGHT FOR PEACE THEN DIED.

CHORUS 2:
WHAT KIND OF LIFE ARE THEY LIVING? WHAT ARE THEY WORKING FOR?
WHEN THEY DON’T GET TO BE WITH THEIR FAMILIES ANYMORE.
WILL WE FORGET WHAT THEIR FATHERS DID? DID THEY HAVE TO PAY THIS PRICE?
TELL ME IT WAS WORTH THEIR SACRIFICE?

VERSE 3
IT TOOK 30 YEARS OF SEARCHING BEING FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT.
THERES MANY WHO HAVE TRIED BUT NONE THAT COULD GET NEAR IT.
HE WENT INSIDE THE TEMPLE TO FULFILL HIS FATHERS PLAN
HE GAVE EVERYTHING HE HAD FOR ALL THOSE IN THIS LAND.

CHORUS 3:
WHAT KIND OF LIFE ARE YOU LIVING? WHAT ARE YOU WORKING FOR?
WHEN YOU DON’T GET TO SPEND TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY ANYMORE.
HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN WHO YOUR FATHER IS? WHY DID HE PAY THAT PRICE?
PLEASE TELL ME IT WAS WORTH HIS SACRIFICE?

I LOOK AT ALL MY FAMILY HERE AND I KNOW I’VE FOUND MY PLACE

CHORUS:

THAT’S WHAT OLD FASHION COUNTRY MEANS TO ME

VERSE 2
NOW WHEN IT COMES TO THE HUNNIES, WE LIKE TO WATCH THEIR BODIES SHAKE

Going Down To Joe's

Written By: Joe Bristol

GOING DOWN TO JOE'S

I WORK REAL HARD AND WHEN MY DAY IS DONE
I GO TO A PLACE FOR SOME GUARANTEED FUN
WHERE THEY’VE GOT GREAT FOOD AND SOME ICE COLD BEER
SERVED UP WITH A SMILE MAKES MY WORRIES DISAPPEAR
I DON’T NEED TO DRESS UP OR TAKE OUT A LOAN
THE PRICES ARE RIGHT THEY MAKE MY FEEL AT HOME
A GUARANTEED GOOD TIME IS SURE TO BE FOUND
BY JUST HEADING ON DOWN TO THAT GIZZARD TOWN
CHORUS:
WELL I’M GOING DOWN TO JOE'S
DOWN TO GIZZARD CITY
WELL I’M GOING DOWN TO JOE’S
DOWN TO GIZZARD CITY
WHERE THEY’RE KNOWN FOR THEIR GIZZARDS
AND THEIR ICE COLD BEER
YOU’RE GONNA HAVE SOME FUN IF YOU COME DOWN HERE
CHORUS:
DROP SOME COINS IN THE JUKEBOX PLAY THAT FAMILY TRADITION.
SHOOT A LITTLE POOL AND SEND MY ORDER TO THE KITCHEN.
I’LL HAVE ME A BURGER AND AN ORDER OF RINGS
AND DON’T FORGET MY GIZZARDS OR JUST FORGET THE WHOLE THING.
AN ICE COLD BEER AND SOME CHANGE FOR THE PHONE
HEY BY THE HOUSE A ROUND CUZ I'M AINT GOING HOME
BEFORE I KNOW IT IT'S TURN TWO O'CLOCK
THEY SAY IT'S TIME TO GO HOME BUT I'M STILL READY TO ROCK

CHORUS:
WELL OLDJOE IS AT THE BAR SAYING YOU DRINK UP YOUR BEER
"YOU AINT GOTTA GO HOME BUT YOU CAN'T STAY HERE."
I KNOW YOUR HAVING FUN BUT IT'S TIME THAT YOU GO
DON'T FORGET YOUR HAT AND COAT OR YOUR ORDER TO-GO.
WELL WE PICK UP OUR THINGS AND HEAD FOR THE BAR
WE'VE GOT TO PAY OUR TAB CUZ THEY KNOW WHO WE ARE.
THE LAW SAY'S IT'S TIME TO BRING THE NIGHT TO AN END
SO WE GET UP TOMORROW AND START ALL OVER AGAIN.
CHORUS:

I Am Waiting

Written By: Joe Bristol

I AM WAITING
V1
ALL MY LIFE I’VE WAITED FOR A KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR
UNTIL NOW HE HASN’T SHOWN
ALL I WANTED WAS A HERO TO WISK ME AWAY
SO I WOULDN’T FEEL ALL ALONE

THINGS I THOUGHT WERE IMPORTANT NOW MEAN ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
FANCY CARS AND JEWELS ARE THINGS OF THE PAST
EMPTY PROMISES THEN WERE SHALLOW OFFERS
BUT WHAT I NEED IS SOMETHING THAT WILL LAST

CHORUS:
I AM WAITING, I AM WAITING
FOR THE MAN OF MY DREAMS TO APPEAR
I AM WAITING, I AM WAITING
SOMEDAY SOON I KNOW HE WILL BE HERE

V2
THERE ARE TIMES I THINK TO MYSELF THAT I’M BEING FOOLISH
COME ON YOU KNOW DREAMS DON’T COME TRUE
WASTING PRESCIOUS TIME ON WORTHLESS EFFORTS
HOPING SOMEHOW TO MAKE IT THROUGH

CHORUS

BRIDGE
UNTIL THAT MOMENT I’M GONNA STAY STRONG
CAUSE I KNOW INSIDE MY HEART IT’S NOT GONNA BE LONG

CHORUS:

You Captivate Me

Written By: Joe Bristol

YOU CAPTIVATE ME

VERSE 1
I’VE GOT SOMETHING TO TELL YOU NO MATTER WHAT THE COST
I’M SCARED TO LOOK INTO YOUR EYES FOR FEAR I MIGHT GET LOST
YOUR INTOXICATING BEAUTY SETS MY COLD HEART FREE
YOU CAPTIVATE ME.

CHORUS:
YOU CAPTIVATE ME OH BABY CAN’T YOU SEE
YOU AND I WERE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER
AND WHEN I WANT TO ROAM YOU PULL ME RIGHT BACK HOME
YOU CAPTIVATE ME

VERSE 2
TELL ME HOW CAN YOU EXPLAIN A PASSION THAT EXISTS
BETWEEN TWO OLD AND WEARY SOULS THAT TRY HARD TO RESIST
THE SPELL OF ONE ANOTHER AND WHAT WAS MEANT TO BE
YOU CAPTIVATE ME

CHORUS:

VERSE 3
THERE’S QUESTIONS WITHOUT ANSWERS QUESTIONS IN OUR MINDS
WILL HOLD ON TO FOREVER ONE DAY AT A TIME

BRIDGE:
YEAH EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU BABY HAS GOT HOLD ON ME
YOU CAPTIVATE ME
YOU CAPTIVATE ME

Sunday Morning

Written By: Joe Bristol

SUNDAY MORNING
V1
SUNDAY MORNING 8AM. ALARM CLOCK’S GOING OFF AGAIN
AS I ROLL OUT OF BED THINKING I SHOULD HAVE STAYED INSTEAD
I GRAB MY COAT AND MY KEYS. EVERYDAY’S THE SAME ROUTINE.
AS I HOP INSIDE MY TRUCK AND LORDY JUST MY LUCK.
I RAN OUT OF GAS OUTSIDE THAT DINER DOWNTOWN.
I LOOKED THROUGH THE WINDOW AND LOOK WHO I FOUND.
CHORUS:
YES THERE’S BEEN A TIME OR TWO THAT MAKING SWEET LOVE TO YOU HAS COME ACROSS MY MIND
LIKE EVERYTIME YOU WALKED INTO THE ROOM
I’VE IMAGINED EVERYDAY, THAT NOT SO VERY FAR AWAY
MY BED SMELLS OF YOUR PERFUME. AND I HOPE IT’S SOMEDAY SOON.
NO MATTER WHAT YOU MAY BE WEARING. MAN I CAN’T STOP STARING
AND WISHING YOU WERE MINE.
HOW LONG WILL THAT BE? GUESS I’LL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE
CUZ ALL I HAVE IS TIME.
V2
THEN SHE LOOKED AT ME AND SMILED. “YOU KNOW IT’S BEEN QUITE AWHILE. “
“MAN, HOW HAVE YOU BEEN?” IT’S GREAT TO SEE YOU AGAIN.”
THERE’S SO MUCH I WISHED I SHARED AND SHOWED HOW MUCH I CARE
BUT HOW HONEST COULD I BE? AND DOES SHE EVER THINK OF ME?
AS I WATCHED HER WALK AWAY THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD SAY
AS MY HEART STARTED SINKING. IF I’D ONLY SHARED WHAT I WAS THINKING.
CHORUS:
