Bio
Kathryn Brunner stepped onto the Christian music scene when she was selected as a finalist at the Inspire Worship Conference in Nashville, TN for her song, Better Than Life. She subsequently released two Contemporary Christian pop songs with Nashville producer David Browning in the Fall of 2010, and released her EP, Made For Me, June 2011. In October 2011, Kathryn's song, Hope is Rising hit #1 on Indieheaven.com's fan faves chart and top 3 on Indieheaven radio's Top 20 chart.
Kathryn started performing live on keys and vocals while touring the United States east coast and Brazil with Christian artist Carl Cartee. During the tour, Kathryn co-wrote the Vine Song with band member, John Crutchfield, later featured on his award winning debut album, Crutch Field.
Kathryn’s influences range across the music spectrum – from Sara Groves to Chris Tomlin to Sara Bareilles. Her sound is a blend of acoustic harmony and upbeat passionate praise. In live performance, she fuses the sounds of varied instruments from piano, guitar, bass to violin with the mellow beat of the djembe.
Kathryn has worked with renowned vocal coach, Kim Wood Sandusky, on music row in Nashville, TN.
Her songs speak about the reality of living the Christian life. Her greatest desire in music is to help people know Christ and the freedom that relationship with him brings.
Kathryn grew up across the United States as the daughter of an Airforce officer, her father being one of her greatest musical inspirations. She has been leading worship since she was 15. She currently leads worship weekly for a vibrant young adult community at a church in the DC Metro area. She is married and lives with her husband in Fairfax, VA.
