Bio

Kole and the band hit the road next month for their 50 city tour across the US and Canada promoting her new EP "Let's Fly" and her book "Someone Save Me, my story my struggle."

Ten years ago another Jane Doe was dumped at a hospital emergency room after a drug overdose. After her awakening Kole realized she had to turn her life around. By 18 Kole was competing at Miss Teen Usa, at 19 she was signed and moved herself and her min pin to the big apple. After 4 years in the NYC Kole returned to Utah in hopes of finding herself. In 2009, Summer Jam West was born thanks to the hard work of her Mom and co-founder, Bobbi Hansen. The 3 day music seminar brought national talent and Grammy award winners, songwriters and music execs to the state of Utah with over 200 attendees it’s first year.

“I realized that stuff wasn’t making me happy. So I sold it all and quit my job to, again, pursue music.”

Kole’s experience and inspiring story has led her around the world as a guest of the United Nations, military chapters, national talk shows and universities as a speaker. Staying connected marked the beginning of the social media networking she is known for. In 2010 Kole was asked to speak at the Politics Online Conference in DC alongside John King (CNN) Nic Adler (The Roxy), Brad Hunstable (Ustream.tv), Whurley (Chaotic Moon Studios) and David Almacy (former internet director for the Whitehouse) to name a few. Kole now resides in Austin, Texas, where her unique blues/folk sound has found a home in the country’s acclaimed Live Music Capital.

In 2011 Kole finished penning her first book “Someone Save Me, my life, my struggle” which is set to release in July. The book dives in to her dark past long before the drugs found their way into her life. When asked why she wrote the book she expressed her need to connect to others and maybe her path of self discovery will help others in theirs. Upon completion the book turned out to be less about her addiction to drugs and more about her addiction to suffering. Self destruction had become so engrained in her that she would have to identify the patterns before being able to change them.

“I’m very excited about this tour and sharing new insights through my music, speaking and the publishing of my book,” Hansen said, “It’s very gratifying to see everything fall into place at this stage of my life and career.”
In addition to her music while on tour, Hansen arranges to speak to schools about her former drug addiction.
