Lindsey Schust, compositrice e cantante statunitense, esordisce sul mercato discografico con "Dónde está mi corazón", lavoro autoprodotto e realizzato ad Andover, New Hampshire (USA).
L'album contiene complessivamente nove brani inediti con cui ci distacchiamo nettamente dalle linee generali cui siamo solitamente avvezzi. Non ci troviamo di fronte ad un album da ballare ma bensì ad un'operazione dai toni sperimentali che non pretende di riproporre sonorità tradizionali de "La Isla Grande", ma soltanto di ricreare un sound, da cui scaturisce un'amalgama di ritmi ispirati dalla tradizione afro-cubana, che in poche parole si riassume in una fusione di stili eterogenei plasmata da altrettante tradizioni che coinvolgono il reggae, latin, blues, jazz. Gli elementi che evocano marcato riferimento al folclore afro-caraibico sono determinati dall'incalzante timbro delle percussioni accompagnato dalla scansione della clave nei tempi 2/3 e 3/2, mentre il variare delle tastiere e del basso ci riproietta alle sonorità precentemente citate.

Bio
Lindsey Schust is a composer, singer, & multi-instrumentalist from rural New Hampshire. Her songs reflect her passion for Country, Folk and African & Afro-Cuban rhythms. Lindsey was introduced to African & Afro-Caribbean percussion by her Godfather, the late drumming icon, Babatunde Olatunji. While getting her master’s in composition, Lindsey visited Cuba with the Tufts University jazz band. This experience inspired the creation of her first CD "Dónde Está Mi Corazón”, which features Lindsey (piano, bass, percussion, vocals) accompanied by, Grace Schust (vocals and percussion). The recording has been played on radio stations in many countries including Canada, Colombia, Peru, Italy, England, Australia, China, Greece, & the US.
Her new single "Hippie Hill" has received critical acclaim on-line and in the NH area. Performed by Lindsey Schust and her Ragged Mountain Band, the single is available on-line as is their new music video for Hippie Hill.
